I've been following you since your first 10k on the Bay video...I am 74 and started selling on eBay at that time for extra income to supplement my S.S. income. When my son was growing up he would always say "I'm trying" to do whatever it was at the time, One day I placed a book in his hand and said "Try to drop it" he look at me confused. I said, "There is no such thing as 'trying' you either hold the book or drop it~" It is the same with our listing goal there is no trying, we either do it or we don't ...the excuses are just that....excuses...If a 74-year-old pain-ridden, tired, old body can get it done you youngsters need to go after it while you can...NO EXCUSES...Thanks, Chris I have never missed a video in all these years and seen most more than once ...

Your 100 Listing Challenge is perfect for me. I'm so thankful you put this together to help newbies like me--to understand how Ebay works. I'm also incredibly excited that tomorrow I finally get to sign up and join the Resellers Podcast group. I have so many questions and I'm raring to hit the road. My friends, from church, came over today to help me set up my sorting station, photography station and shipping station. I do need to acquire shelving for my storage system, but I'm "making progress daily"! Thank you so much Chris!

Consistent listing is the key. We did clothing only, listing 10 plus daily. Sales were great. A lot time sourcing thrift and outlet stores. We added a hard good category and started devoting more time to the hards. These were so easy to find from only a couple of sources. As the hard goods became the dominant category we found less time for clothing. We haven't listed a clothing item in almost 2 months. Clothing sales are now at 3-4 per week but the hard goods are selling as fast as I can list in most cases. I list a few each day and sales are very good. When I weigh the 2 categories it's a no brainer. Average clothing sale was $15-$20 while hard good average is around $80-$90. Most of the hard items are semi-replenishible. Easy to acquire. I find the same items over and over. Only the condition, color, year, etc. change. Way to easy to list. It's the shipping that is the most difficult. We still have a golden death pile of clothing that could revive the clothing sales but.......

I have toooo much clothing. Not moving fast enough for me, and I'm thinking of having a fire sale, or renting a pop up space and sell for really really cheap.

This is true, I started my store in August and was listing inconsistently then wondering why my sales were all over the place, I found your videos and started implementing what you say. I have increased my profit 10x since August and doubled my sales in January compared to December. Now I feel like the only limit to my earning potential is the amount of hours in the day

I do suck at reselling on eBay a lot of ways in your eyes. I sell everything and list anything that’s worth more on Amazon there and whatever’s worth more on eBay obviously. But I’d like to get to one niche eventually and thats why I watch you lol.

One MAIN thing that no one seems to ever mention is that you must have supportive family / friends or whatever the scenario is. Otherwise it’s a choice between making money or them. I’m a carer. I have access to 1000’s of items of free stock that could be listed. I’m torn between leaving the person I’m caring for all alone in the house for hours each day whilst I list. Or drop it all and totally forget about it! I can only manage listing 5 new items each day and about 10 sell similars. Even then I feel guilty that I’m not focusing on the loved one I a,m caring for. Making it difficult to concentrate with a clear conscience. Can’t find a happy medium yet.

5:58 This is what some would call Ambiverted...sorta like ambidextrous, being both left and right handed. So I'm an Introverted person...but have an extroverted side. This comes in handy with work and getting things done. I'm a single guy and my kids are grown with their own money. My ebay store is mostly a hobby, something to give me something to do...I like making money as well and use the money I make to buy misc things I want without apply my regular income to those things.

I was thinking about your statement that you list 124 items a day. At first I questioned that number and then I looked at my best listing days and decided you can do 124 listings in a day if you stick to your lane and buy LIKE KINDS. I save up like kinds such as flatware and then pic and llist all flatware at the same time. Some listings will sell for $9.99 and some for $99.99. Your 124 listings probably do the same. 124 listings at $10/listing (worst case) =$1240/day. The profit is in numbers. Nice.

Not sure where or how to ask a question but here goes: How do you deal with returns? I feel it is personal sometimes so how do you avoid getting frustrated with returns? I put 12 pictures, tons of measurements and point out even the slightest of flaws and people return the item with "not as described" and it can make me upset at times. Also, what is the percentage of returns you get?

Need a little advice from clothes sellers. I have gravitated more towards selling exclusively cloths and shoes, from being an everything seller when I started about 6 months ago. I would say about 65% cloths right now. I find I waste tons of time worrying about wrinkles in cloths before taking pics, I put them in the dryer, then find I'm ironing them as well to get stubborn wrinkles out. It is by far my biggest time consumer when listing clothes. My question since you are most exclusively into clothes, is do you care that much about wrinkles or is there a quicker way you deal with them on each item? my next step is trying a steamer.
@Chicago482 жыл бұрын
Get a "little genie" steamer. I just picked one up at the thrift for $7. OR -- get an iron that also steams. If you're consistently getting clothing that's got wrinkles, it's the quality of the clothing material. Really good materials don't wrinkle. Try to get wrinkle-free shirts, for example. Or buy quality polyester outfits. Wrinkle free hangs better for photos.

I have a very new small EBay account but a lot of items to sell (sports card packs). I have 34 items up rn and I post up like 3 items a day. Only sell like 1 thing a week but I’m assuming when I get way more items in I’ll sell more? 34 items seems tiny

Hey Chris and Everyone reading this, I am a soaking sponge to all the information in your videos. And I cannot thank you anymore. Now I have a question since I stumbled a little fork in the road. I am running low on inventory due to the listing challenge. For anyone reading this, "IT DOES WORK." Now I have to delay replenishing the merchandise, which can take a bit cause I am in contact with a couple of people and shipping the products to my house to start listing again. My question is, "How do I keep my account going strong in the algorithm while trying to replenish in time so my eBay account won't sink.
@Rollie-go2 жыл бұрын
Maybe list things from around your home that you can sell while your waiting for your inventory to arrive, or ask family and friends of they have stuff they want to get rid of to tide you over

Hey, thanks for another awesome video. Love your all of your advice. Could I ask a quick question? Is there a specific time of the day that you aim to list your items?? As in like a 6pm schedule so there is higher traffic when people are home after work so they see your newly listed items?? Or is it purely a set number of listings a day at any time?? I don't know if I overthink the timing or not. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks so much
