There are several videos online making the claim, that the les muscle isn't working properly for reflux patients, because there is not enough stomach acid. And that getting acid reducing medication therefore is the exact opposite of what reflux patients should be doing. It is recommended to drink apple cider vinegar for example or to take pills which help the stomach produce more acid. It is claimed that too low stomach acid is the cause for the insufficient functionality of the sphincter muscle. I have no idea if these claims are legit though...

This is not true. IF this was the case then everyone who goes cold turkey off of ppi meds would get relief seeing as that causes acid rebound. The majority of people who quit ppi's get horrible symptoms.

When my wife and I had acid reflux years ago we never thought it could be from low acid, I thought it was due to hyper-acidity because of spicy foods we've been eating and drinks such fruit juices in bottles and coffee. We tried different medications but they only provided temporary relief. Someone at the church suggested to us to eat natural remedies such as red apples. We tried red apple delicious and Fuji apple fruits for a few days and we were amazed they worked, we totally got rid of the problem and it never came back until this day.

Yes it's LPR - GERD. Treat with Gaviscon Advance or Reflux Gourmet. These contain Sodium Alginate which blocks pepsin gas from floating up the esophagus - which is what is causing your symptom. Pepsin should be in the stomach to digest foods but not up in throat digesting tissue. This needs to be blocked then follow with a low acid diet for a week to avoid activating the pepsin already in your throat and sinus tissues. Take a teaspoon of honey several times /day after meals and at bedtime.

The problem isn't TOO MUCH ACID at ALL! It's n not enough acid or acid in the wrong place OUTSIDE the stomach. You actually need MORE acid in stomach to digest nutrients. Stomach Ph should be in the 1.5-2.5 range - hugely acidic. But it needs to stay there as the esophagus is not designed to handle that level of acid as is the stomach. Better digestion = less regurgitated food. Take Betaine HCL and digestive enzymes WITH food, the Gaviscon Advance or Reflux Gourmet AFTER eating and at bedtime to seal up the LES precluding gas or food from backing up. Eat a low acid diet for one week to help heal the throat and sinuses as pepsin gas has embedded itself in there. You will feel better in a week

Do you ever do linx on a weak esophagus. Since my manometry showed 60% ineffective swallows my dr would rather do a loose Nissen than Linx. But I think it’s the reflux causing the motility issue and perhaps Linx would eliminate both. There are risks with either procedure and the Nissen isn’t reversible.

My experience has been different. I had no regurgetation events, EVER. I have no idea as to how "heart"burn feels. I've been a non drinker most of my life. Multiple family tragedies had me over a barrel. Insomnia, regrets, guiltall for overlooking what the doctors should have caught. I only caught those AFTER my six siblings died after one cancer after another. Jeryy smoked but no lung cancer, he got colon coancer. Rej, never smoked ate sen sible was good BMI,,, but he got prostate cancer. The one that feeds on testosterone. You mean to say that this Urologist had no idea that there are 2 types of prostate can cer/ One is watch and wait, the other is definaetely not. Some 23 years ago, I saw a new Doctor and my BP was 140 ovwe 90. Not great, not bad. I got Metoprolol for this. Despite it not working AT ALL, Doc said keep taking it, it'll "kick" in. But wait, Soce the Atrial fibrillation started just a few weeks on the Met. No, he insisted, Met can't give you AF. I went 5 years, thinking that my heart's being damaged with every attack, I'd get 2-3, sometimes 4 times a week. They were POWERFUL and would last 6 to 8 hours. One time, the injection they givwe you wasn't working. Doc nods to a nurse "another" hit. Nope. Another Doc asks me, if I feel anyh pain. To his amazement, I said no. Wel the arrythmia is affecting of ther chambers of your heart. I offered the observation that sometimes an Ativan would abort an attack Another nod from the Doc and evertyhing settled down, erratic beats but no to strong the feeel like my heart's going to explode. ut what to do about it/ The Maise procedure an'or a pacemaker is "standard" of care. Sorry, standards aren't high enough for me. Thne Internet was just gettting up to speed so I did a lot of research. 2-3 hours a day for many weeks. When you want answers, go to the forums. One guy, an engineer with some chamistry learning. went to the New York library and spent moths. Good data and research, clearly ovlerlooked was the role Magnesium plays in the body. Some 400 processes are reliant on adequate magnesium intack. Depleted soiles, poor mineral intake. So he tried titrating from 250mg to 2000 a day in divided doses did the trick within only a few weeks. So I went for it,,,, IT WORKED FOR ME. 15 years now, and not a glitch,,, not one.
