Gamestop should have done this a long time ago, I guess the Company leaders thought there was no money in retro games, they messed up and found out, just like some pawn shops. One time I saw a pawn shop turn down an original 3ds. I ask the person outside the store they wanted for it. They said 40 bucks, I said SOLD !!!

Typical gamestop stuff. Overpromise and underdeliver. Personally, I stopped supporting them several years ago over some shady business practices (selling used games as new). Also claiming they "refurbish" stuff which was rarely my experience. Gave them another shot recently by purchasing new games on one of their online sales and got 9 out of 11 games which were unsealed and had used stickers on them....I quickly remembered why I stopped buying from them. I hope this campaign of theirs fails. If people support them, they'll just end up gobbling up your local mom and pop retro game stores anyway.

I've noticed that their biggest "retro" selection is mostly just 7th gen (360, PS3, Wii U) which is like, eh. After returning to the stores I've visited two weeks ago I barely noticed a difference in their selection, one of them just moved the section somewhere else but they're still feeling like after thoughts with everything towards the back of the store. It'll be interesting to see how they continue to progress.

I went to my the one GameStop Retro spot by me and was completely underwhelmed. There were really on PS3/360 and some Wii games there and majority of them had the generic boxes. I went in there just to browse whatever Gameboy/Color/Advance games they might have in stock, and they didn’t have any at all. No SNES, N64, Genesis, nothing. Love the concept of the store but I’ll pass for now. Great vid!!

It's definitely hit or miss depending on when you go. I've had some luck at some stores, but a majority of the time its too much of a hassle versus going to a retro gaming store and generally just finding what you need. Cool video.

I really miss the Software Etc days. Even the early days of the changing of the franchise to GameStop I sure loved those bargain bins. I got some great AAA games for less than $5. That was back in the early 2000's. Things went downhill rapidly 20 or so years ago. All the cartridge games completely disappeared. Retro gaming means something entirely different to these young kiddies. I grew up with Atari 2600. We have a retro gaming store about 12 minutes away. It has what GameStop used to have but 10x larger or so. I could spend a long time in there.

QueenG22 channel is dope. She always got a dope reveal or put us up on games to look for. I must say I'm not a big fan of GameStop and I don't know how they continue to survive with their 💩💩💩 business practices. I rarely buy/trade anything from GS unless I can get a deal on a game or to purchase a PSN card. Idk even know if there is a GameStop retro store in my area or state but from the looks of it in the video it doesn't even seem worth the time to even make the trip there.

Agreed. Definitely a good concept. I just won’t be going out of my way to shop at these stores while looking for retro games. Hopefully, GameStops will continue to increase inventory. Meanwhile, catch me at my local retro game stores. 💜😎

I saw a Pokemon Stadium N64 game, Injustice looks good, for ps3. I would get Fire Emblem Awakening too, if I had a 3ds that worked. Mine died. Part of me wants to protest Nintendo, as they don't have near enough diversity. Their Princesses are all white, those being Peach, Daisy and the other one. The Ps3 section was stacked, and that big 3ds display case was bigger than the one by me.

Yeah I went to my local GameStop to check out the Retro section and it was so disappointing. Had a bunch of Common ps3 and Xbox 360 games and some DS games in this small section. I too would rather go to a mom pop Retro gaming store any day of the week over GameStop retro.
