I needed to hear this advice now ! My situation is exactly the same, but it not the people in my case, rather parents... and so the difficulty is more! You have shared such a comprehensive advice in such a brief way, May Allah reward you for it in the best way ! Aameen.

May Allah Bless Imam As Shafi’i, raise him to the highest of ranks. May Allah unite him with the Prophet. Such is the affair of those who give their life to Allah, they will be remembered, and respected until the Day Of Judgement. Generations will pass by and every generation will not just remember him, but pray to Allah for him. May Allah help us strive in His Path and Keep us steadfast.

Jazakallah khair for the beautiful advice Ustadh. The most important part about learning arabic, memorizing Qur'an, not indulging oneself into unnecessary debates with half ilm is very important for a student of knowledge. What matters is the purpose of seeking knowledge...unlike today's students who learn for name, fame and job unfortunately :(

Correctection: غضاب is not pronounced as غظاب as in "ghidhab" but rather is pronounced as "ghidab." the difference is that the former is a DAAD ضاض while the latter is ظاء which makes a magnificent difference.

Sheikh, can you please explain why in the line at 5:56 : قطعت رجائي منهم بذبابه, there is a dhummah on the م in the word منهم? Does this have something to do with the dialect Imaam As Shaafi'e spoke? or this a grammer rule of arabic
@ArabicFluency7 ай бұрын
This is allowed for poetry to keep the meter. You can read about poetic licenses in Arabic poetry.

Why did sufyan athawry hide from the calipha? I don’t understand someone needs to be wrong. Either the caliph or this imam. I can’t imagine someone bad being selected as caliphate. So if that was the case why would u name someone like that with the great scholars. (Btw I have no idea who this imam is)
@hassanibrahim147 ай бұрын
The caliph was elected by vote only during the first few caliphs, but then the caliph was determined by heritage, meaning that the caliphate became a monarchy, and the son would inherit the father's throne. So that way, the caliph needed not to be a pious man, nor a knowledgeble one, nor a qualified leader, nor one who carries and protects the Deen properly. And like that, a lot of the time a cliph would be unjust, and he would be upon falsehood in his belief, e.g. the caliphs during the time of Imam Ahmad accepted the ash'ari creed, a deviation from the correct aqeedah. And not only did they accept it for themselves, but they also tried to force this aqeedah upon the scholars of the time; And the greatest of the 'ulama in resisting this fitnah was Imam Ahmad rahimahullah. As for the Imam Sufyan Ath-Thawri, he was a great Imam of Ahlu Sunnah, and was the most knowledgeable in the field of hadeeth, to which he contributed a great deal.

The caliphate ended with Ali. Everyone after him was a king. The first kingdom was led by Mu’awiyyah (a great companion of the prophet), then his dependents. They’re known as the ‘Umayyads. Then around 130 hijri, they were overthrown and a new kingdom was established known as the ‘Abbasids. And they continued until the mongols defeated them. Just because the ‘Umayyads and ‘Abbasids were kingdoms doesn’t mean they were bad. Most of their kings in the early centuries were good. Among the scholars that were mentioned in the video, Sufyan Al-Thawri, the one you mentioned is arguably the best from them in worship and knowledge.
