Sooo.. your shop was used in PMI's marketing video promoting their dual stick palet tape. What's the dealio.. does that PMI tape suck or what?

No. The PMI dual stick platen tape doesn't suck. PMI is local to us and they needed a place to get some new videos for their website so we opened up our shop to them. We don't have a ton of time testing and using it. We use all their other tape for every job and love the quality of PMI tape. We just don't have enough time with the dual stick platen tape to switch our entire process to it. We have been using Water-based adhesive for several years now and have the method we showed in the video down and can move very efficiently with it.

Yes the process is the same for hoodies. We typically need to scrub every 3 or so rotations depending on the hoodie and how much fiber it leaves behind on the platen.

I also used to use aerosol and am so glad I switched and will never go back same as you. Do you find that for hoodies you have to scrub the boards each time? That is the only thing I wish I could save time on. Thanks for your great videos, such an inspiration for me to work hard and get better at printing!

Yea man! Can't deal with the aerosol all day long! With hoodies we typically need to scrub every 3 or so rotations depending on the hoodie and how much fiber it leaves behind on the platen. It depends on how well the glue pad is established on the platen. If we are on an extremely tight deadline and we can't afford the scrub time we will use web spray but that is very rare nowadays for us.

​ @GoldenPressStudio Thanks so much for your response and I am finding the hoodies I'm using leave behind lots of fiber most times but it still beats using aerosol spray. I also find that the particular glue brand I use (SAATI) can be inconsistent with how much it's been watered down from batch to batch so it's taken a bit of playing around with to dilute it to the right consistency sometimes.

Absolutely! We use the Sgreen water-based adhesive and do not dilute for shirts. We prefer using the Tekmar water-based adhesive and do not dilute for hoodies. We found the consistency to be a bit thicker and not so runny.

Actually no, they are 2 different products. You can get Sgreen from Ryonet here: shrsl.com/3v83w and we get Tekmar from Dave at Multicraft in Chicago.

I'm disappointed by the lack of response to questions in the comment section, especially regarding where to find items related to the video's instructions.
