hahaha, love the title, I've had a Sony a7ii for 3 weeks and had exactly ZERO issues with the menu system. Being able to customise the buttons is a great feature too.

@Commendatore on the a7sii it's on the second page of the menu, point 6 - "APS-C super 35mm". Not exactly convenient!

After using my A7RII for a year, I don't been consider another camera body if it doesn't have as many buttons. I love being able to have so many shortcuts that I can activate without going into the menu

The Hunter Report, I love this video tutorial, awesome. I'm an ex Nikon shooter, sold all my gear and order the A7III, because I believe that the A7III has so much potential. Please, do some tutorial of the A7III if you happen to buy one, I played around with the A7RIII and I could not find my way, that's why I was looking for some video tutorial about Sony Menu and some customizable stuff and buy far your's were the best. Before this video, I heard a lot about focus peaking, but no one really explain how and the potential, zebra, a lot of people saying that is a must to use, yes, I got it, but why and how, and you nailed it. Thanks.

Totally agree. I've had Nikons, Fujis and Canons, and the Sony has the best menu system of all (IMHO).

zebra is only in sony bodies? i know olympus cameras with similar function. they show you the blown areas in color

I gotta question your use of adjusting your ISO setting to remove Zebra lines because the image may be riddled with noise even though it is no longer over exposed.

Sure, noise typically occurs around iso 25,000-52,000 on my sony a7sii. Otherwise, its quite minimal. Here is an example of where I pushed my a7sii to iso 10,000 in extremely dark conditions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGeZfqZ7Ysh5jJIm6s

The information is very good but I don't understand why young people - in particular - tend to Talk So Fast when they are teaching. It makes it hard to follow and often it's difficult to understand what they're saying. Yes! even with a slower more mellow presentation people will need to pause to and go back. Good Info! Slow Down a bit.

No quick access for switching between APS-C and Full Frame mode. Must menu dive. No memory setting will accommodate either. I use this every day. No quick access for Settings Effect On or Off. Must menu dive. I use this every day. No quick access for formatting a card. Must menu dive. I use this every day. No diagonal movements on control wheel for AF point or manual playback surfing. No instant AF point selection. Must press engage button first. Not every custom button will accept the same functions. Can't do custom WB while in video mode. Must switch to stills mode to lock the reading. AF/MF toggle with DMF requires AF lock first, then manual focus. But cannot manual focus first. And no mode provides instant override from AF to MF simply by turning MF ring. Unlike Sony AMount, the EMount combined the AF/MF button with the AEL button. So cannot use them at the same time. AMount gives completely different buttons. Limited controls with vertical grip. Difficult to reach the rear control wheel for anything. And the AF/MF AEL toggle switch is not duplicated, so must reach across the camera to change. _______ Sony could make the menus a lot better simply by arranging all similar controls into categories. But it's all over the place. Why is "Focus Magnifier" in the menu at all? Nobody dives the menu for that. Clutter. Why isn't "Center Lock-on AF" with the other AF menu items? It's three pages away with "Soft Skin Effect"... Why isn't "Audio Recording" on the same page as all the other audio controls? I've been shooting Sony exclusively since a900, which retained elegant Minolta menus. a99 separated all stills and video into different menus. But EMount just clutters the menu putting anything anywhere. It's just a mess.

First generally, some of your issues can be solved by assigning to the function menu which provides 12 different customizable slots. Next, See 11:02 for af-s vs. af-c. You clearly are a power user, all I can say is that each iteration...sony tends to address lots of issues, and sony iterates quite quickly on its cameras, hopefully the rumored A9 will solve your issues.

I agree. It is just like Apple. Once you get the hang of it, you do not want to switch to any other brand. I used A6000 for quite sometime and any other brand did not interest me but Sony.

QUICK! Turn off EFCS. What? Can't put it on a custom button? Ok, find it in the menu. QUICK! Hey, the custom buttons are very useful and everybody should be using them, but that doesn't excuse Sony's difficult menu navigation.
