4:07 is that a police car that drives right past the guy coming off of the sidewalk? I am an American, so I am confused. Not saying that our system is better or anything, I am genuinely curious why there is such a clear distinction between traffic police and the "regular" police. In my area we have the local cities police, most of things around me are in cities called Goshen and Elkhart, so we have Goshen and Elkhart police while we are in those areas, but then we have the "county sheriffs".....which can be found in both cities, but also all the rest of the areas in between, and then there are the state police, which are in all of the counties. Not trying to be overly confusing, but those are all of the layers that I have to deal with, and it just comes down to jurisdiction.....not a clear division of job duties/expectations/authority. (ok, a state police officer can pull me over anywhere, but a Goshen officer cant pull me over using his authority as a Goshen police officer if I am driving in the north side of.....any other city that isnt Goshen, for example) Traffic cops are fully police officers, right? They can make arrests? And "regular police" can cite people for violations of the traffic laws, right? Are they not essentially the same thing, its just the people that are making such a clear distinction?

How did driving on the footpath become a thing in Russia? I thought Russian police ruled with an iron fist but they themselves drive and park on the footpath! Did peple break the law like this during the Soviet Union? Unbelievable behavior from Russian citizens and the Russian Police! The old Soviet city planning involved pedestrian "sidewalks" that are litterally the width of a standard 2 way road.. the same time city planning back then didnt take into account that car ownership, car sizes and traffic would many double in only 40-50 years.. Combine that with people that have become more selfish (in some cases people with money or connections thinking they can do as they want) and a police force that just dosnt care in 90% of the cases and you suddenly have this kind of situations with people driving and parking in pedestrian zones..

The last info I got about that, was from the user @TheMorpheios: "A court hearing was held on June 11. This time really discussed the case. The prosecutor read out all the charges. The lawyers protested that again there were no specifics, "who exactly committed what action". Again the charges were common to all three. Because of this, the court had already returned the case for further investigation, but this time the judge was satisfied. Also this time they discussed the evidence of the defense and prosecution. The next hearing is July 27. And it will be more interesting, because the prosecutor promised that it will start with the testimony of the "injured police officers"."
