Stopera Amsterdam 1989 Betacam SP camera originals. For aerovision magazine on KLM flights.

These are original camera shots taken in Dec. 1989 in the Stopera Amsterdam. The man you see is announcing the videos that can be seen on KLM flights. The magazine is called Aerovision. Perhaps you have ever been on such a flight and seen this. I was able to determine all this from what the presenter says.

Capture with AJA Kona LHi via component (YPrPb).
Edit and correction with Davinci Resolve 17.
Deinterlace with Vapoursynth (QTGMC), Upscale with Video Enhance AI.

Is the video great? The beta format is really very good. You look at the video and feel as if the video was made recently, especially for you. I have great respect for the author of the channel! He makes great videos. For people like me, this is very interesting content in general. The author always pleases with his video material and painstaking approach to digitizing valuable material!

Hi good morning. I was watching this video and I am impressed by the tremendous quality it has. In your vhs captures, you comment that you capture Uncompressed at 10bit 4.2.2, have you captured this betacam in the same way? When you performed the deinterlacing and scaling process, in what format and codec did you save it? It is seen with a very detailed image even watching it from KZbin. Uncompressed video is good, but requires a lot of free space to store. And if we talk about videos that last more than 3 hours, I think that it is not the appropriate format to store video captures in the long term, that is why I am curious and ask about this video that you have published. Yes, but of course in component video yPbBr instead of s-video.

@@videotaperetro1126 Of course, always use the best possible connection available. Avoiding composite video makes a difference. You uploaded this video to KZbin without compression? It's nice to see the detail for a tape of this age.

@@gabj2747 I save it in v210 (AJA) video format. Uncompressed 10bit 422 so in Original SD resolution 720x576 interlaced. And this is what I use to work with. Archiving I do in FFV1 format and Flac for sound in an MKV container. Both lossless compression formats also in 10bit 422. Upload to youtube after deinterlace and upscale and some more editing I do in h264 codec also 10bit 422 in crf 14 and preset very slow.

@@videotaperetro1126 I have several tapes that I have transferred to my pc, which I still need to deinterlace (I deinterlace with QTGMC). I have recorded them without compression at 10bit and it usually takes up 2.5gb of space per minute of video. I have recordings that last almost 5 hours, so the demand for space is very high. Thank you very much. Could FFV1 be considered the de facto format for long-term video preservation storage? I seek to compress the material but taking care not to lose quality, while trying to save space. At the time I did tests with MJPEG, although for HD material it was acceptable, but not for SD material obtained from videotapes. Sometimes the codecs make you lose more information than one expects.

I suspect one of the last 3-tube plimbicon or saticon cameras or an early 3 CDD camera. I think tube camera because there is a pattern in it that I recognize from my own 3-tube cameras. @@videotaperetro1126 Yeah, I was thinking 3 tube Saticon or early CCD. Too bad there aren't any scenes with low light so you could tell if there is streaking.
