Four comments: 1. I highly recommend ordering your platoon to form a line at close interval when contact is established. This provides maximum firepower to the front. 2. Reload at every opportunity possible. If you are going to be stopped for more than 10 seconds, do a reload. Even getting just one more round can be the difference between life and death. 3. You fell back right as DPICM started to fall. That would have ruined your day if you remained in position. A good tip is to set a timer for 2 minutes; when you engage the enemy move once that two minutes is up. 4. AAR is After Action Review. 😁

Thanks for the tips! The reloading was definitely something that I struggled with. Also, didn't wanna make this video too long, so I just did a short summary but perhaps next time I'll show it.

@@PhanPhantasy Eh, reloading is kinda boring; just some dude moving rounds from the semi-ready to the ready rack. Maybe just mention that you did a full reload if you do a cut. What generally pays dividends are doing opportunity reloads after every engagement. As an example, at 9:10 you finish your first engagement. Your next engagement began at 9:54. That would give you at least 3x rounds of SABOT in your tank. In these cases, split into two sections, reload the one that expended the most ammo, and pull security with the second. You were in a textbook reverse slope defense, so you've got the advantage. The enemy HAS to come to you, and they can't mass like they would want to.

The graphics are still very outdated, especially for what you're paying. I had no end of issues trying to get the resolution to work properly (1440p) and often had to revert to 1080p just so the game would work. Also see the tank treads disappearing into the terrain...just like the very old Panzer Elite. That's totally unacceptable for $115 USD (would be almost $160 CAD for me). I also had issues with tanks spinning in place and bugging out on terrain. Combine that with there being nothing to do unless you download scenarios or make your own...uh, yah, the tiny niche can have it. That tiny niche were also very unhelpful giving me answers like 'use google' in the forums. Real welcoming bunch of old men 🙄 It's too bad as it would be the ultimate modern war sim if they could at a bare minimum provide a battle generator or dynamic campaign.

Glad that you found this video. Most NATO/Western militaries would either use Steel Beasts (the military license version) or VBS (Arma for militaries).

I like the Chally too, but being relatively new to SBP means I find the fire control system fiddly when I also have to concentrate on the tactical stuff of vehicles other than my own. I definitely want to play some Challenger missions but at my early stage, the Leopard has the simplest systems. The Abrams has that thing where you have to pay attention to the next round to manually set the FCS to match and in the heat of battle, I always seem to end up one round type behind the loader! Yeah, yeah. Skill issue. I’ll get there. Oh, and the T-72 is not a user friendly tank at all for a numbskull like me.

@9:43 Actually, if you look, your stab was back online at that moment. I use joystick (warthog) as an aiming device as I found the mouse not optimum under iffy conditions.

@@PhanPhantasy Also -- if you're not aware, controlling more than just a platoon can be made easy by using "Make a task force from selection" (right mouse click) when you have multiple groups selected on the map. You can move entities around, give them orders, and so forth. A couple practice sessions and you'll be a theater commander.
