The fact that the game actually has sanity checks for both keeping the train on the rails, and making sure a train exists, is amazing. Something critical must be tied to the train's code, if the game freezes before adding in a new train.

The train doesn't use game physics to follow the track. It follows the center line or spline of the track object, but it can be affected by some external, "physical" forces, most likely controlled by the "invincibility" setting. The program updates the trains position it looks like about every 1/10th second. The shaking of the engine is the fight between the physical force effect and the regular, 1/10 second positioning of the train. There are two ways to "delete" an object from a 3D space; mark the model data as non-renderable / non-physical / non animated but keep it allocated in asset memory, or delete the object from the localized asset list and memory. If the gun deletes the engine from the asset list and memory, the program lags while it loads in a new 3D model and finds the current position on the tracks, which would be part of a mesh error detection routine. Other program functions like animations and physics are temporarily suspended to speed up the process and possibly to make sure the new engine model doesn't spawn in glitched inside another object.

If everything is tied to it because it's the clock then the train can't be stoppable or removable because it would cause the game to crash. That just seems funny to me and reminds me of using minecarts to make a clock in Minecraft. lol

Delete the entire thing not just the engine Is a train just the engine no The train is all the cars too Each axle is 14,000 pounds x 4 x however many cars you have not including what they are carrying The sheer weight keeps the axles on the track no matter what the track does Until a sudden stop derails the train like the engine going one way and taking the rest with it The couple has as much power to hold on as a single endless bar of track not much breaking that bond, but a snap of the release handle 😊

I believe that the delete gun actually sends them to a far away space instead of actually deleting them,therefore the train is softlocked in its position so if it gets sent to a faraway place it will just comeback. Also you can see debris from the electrical pole so it gives the theory more backup whether it's true or not.

Fun fact During the "Clucking Bell" Heist, you must steal the train. You gave full control of the train, In fact the train is stopped before you get in it. You can press shift to break and stop the train.

The train defied gravity a bunch of times just to get back on the track, it might would have worked, but knowing what the train had already done to get back on the track, if he did think of it he probably figured that something so simple would not work or some kind of glitchy magic would put it on the track again!

Hi all and thanks to Gray and everyone who helps with these videos. I was just watching some of the older videos and during one of the chaos challenges had the idle thought of reversing the challenge; How about instead of chaos happening whenever Gray has a crash, lets have a new chaos spawn with a five to ten second timer that can only be delayed by crashing or hitting something?

*Day 77 of asking... Challenge for Gray: Try and complete a challenge with no checkpoints that take 2 hours to complete. The twist is that the board disappears after you touch it, and in order to reset it, you need to restart the board (before anyone complains... Yes, there will be parts of the board where Gray can have a break, and yes, there will be a teleporter at the end, where Gray has 2 chances to get the correct road path correct (Which won't despawn) if he fails at getting the correct path correct then he just need to restart the map. AND... yes, it is possible, and what I mean by two hours is that no matter what difficult board he plays, would probably take 2 hours, but Zach just edits out most of it, so it's suitable for a short yet entertaining clip) Yes, there will be a 10 second timer before the board slowly disappears and there will be parts of the board that won't disappear and there will be a script at the end where it teleports Gray to the beginning and resets the board, and there'll be 3 teleporters, he'll have to guess correctly, one crashes his game, one forces his game to force restart, and the final teleporter gets him the win*

There is honestly only one or two things that stop the gta V train. It's scripted and hard-coded into the game. Trevor's mission of smashing it into another train always works.Trevor also technically has a cut-to that doesn't STOP the train, but slows it down by more than 50 percent. There's a cut where, if you switch to him, he has been sleeping on the train tracks outside of Sandy Shores. He wakes up and walks out of the way at the last second. If the train had normal speed, it would run over him and WASTED him, but the game is coded (scripted) to give him enough time to walk to safety. Again, that one doesn't STOP the train, but it comes damn close.
