I dont think it gives you an extra card if youre last. Though one thing that does happen is that on the first turn you get way more troops than any more players and plus 1 on any other turn.

For the thing about being unable to become a pilot, thats not true to some extent, they way they say it makes it sound like if you are color blind at ALL you can't be one. The only color blindness type that can outright disallow you to be a pilot, is red green. if you are color blind at all however there is restrictions on what type of flights you can take, such as night time flights, but regardless, people who are colorblind (depending on severity and what type) can still fly a plane. However please do not take my word as law, I am not a pilot, nor training to be one, I just did 10 minutes of googling.

If I may offer advice that you can choose to accept or ignore, when playing Zombies with Progressive Cards on, 90% of the time, territory bonuses don't matter. The key/trick is really just to have 2-3 large stacks that zombies won't hit. Eventually, the value of trading in will be so high that it becomes fairly easy to move around the board and take out zombies/friends. By trying to protect territory bonuses in this type of setup, you are really just losing the majority of your troops to zombies which causes you to be super weak once you get to large trades so even with them, you still struggle to fight against the horde.
