The Clarion probably needed that yellow wire connected to positive 12V as well. They have a constant battery as well as switched by ignition line. Usually red and yellow wires. Its very rare they dont at least power up and have a working radio. Blue wire is often used to power that antenna you have in a packet there.

If you use a router to make a couple of slots in a hardwood plank, you can bulk melt the solder and cast it into new lengths of stick. It's a smokey job best done outside. 💚🐇🐴💚

Yep, I also thought I could just use pieces of angle iron with the ends blocked. I'll have to look into that 👍😊

Textile recycling - in the UK you can take stuff to clothing banks, or you can take it to H&M (clothes shop) and they give you a £5 voucher off a £25 shop! I take all the old stuff that I can't give to a charity shop to them!

Check the pockets on those rags. I was talking to a fitter in a factory a few years ago about an issue they were having with a machine, he grabbed a rag out of the rag bag to wipe his hands and found a $5.00 note in the pocket. I never seem to have that sort of luck!

Some people use peroxide cream to remove the discolouration from old plastics. Is fairly cheap stuff. Sorta works... Ya prolly have a bottle of it in there somewhere.

Yep, the rags went the next day. It was a Pink Floyd t-shirt, but was in very bad torn condition.

White plastic which has gone yellow you can use hydrogen peroxide and the good old Australian sun bring it back white again cheers Graham

Yes, it certainly could be done - but I guess the buyer has no guarantees that it is 60/40 solder!
