@tclanjtopsom4846 it amazes me that you don't believe all these WWII veterans, depression survivors, and Spanish flu survivors did not struggle with similar problems. Difference is they held it in. They valued money. They lived through hardships we can't relate to. They paved the way.

All of these stories just kiss my heart.. I lost my dad 22 years ago and he was the best dad ever I was the last one that he kissed good night before he passed away the next morning he told me look after your mom and I think he knew.. I miss him every day.. and I did fulfill my obligation I took care of my mom for 13 years and I was the only one holding her hand when she passed away and I always told her it would be me and her until the wheels fell off..❤❤❤❤

Thank you, Dad. Your love along with Honey’s and George’s saved me. You taught me I *was* a worthwhile human being regardless of what anyone else thought including my birth “mother.” She told a caseworker, “Oh throw her out on the street, just throw her out” because I was apparently just trash. Love heals. Absolute love heals unconditionally. It’s no exaggeration to say the love of all three of you truly saved me. And I’m glad I told all three of you how much you were and still are, *loved* at every opportunity. I’m trying hard every day to emulate all three of you by becoming the kind of person you would still love and respect. I love you and miss you so very much. Thank you.

These are from the treasure trove of all of the marvelous stories Steve Hartman has blessed us with over the years. They never get old. One of my favorite things to do is to dig into the archives for and have another look and listen. And perhaps a good, cleansing cry.

My dad died 11 years ago today...June 21, 2013 and here you are, Steve. And here's your dad. I'm crying my eyes out. I grew to love your own pop and know just how you must feel now. You're a really great son, young man. Your dad (and mine) were the greatest fathers. Love 'n optimism, Heather at Dunrovin in Newport Vermont The unique emptiness does evaporate as the grand memories come back. oxoxoxo

Steve, Love your stories about you and your Dad! It's really hard when you realize you're an orphan. Unfortunately losing a sibling is much, much, harder! Just keep up with your siblings, tell them how much you love them as often as you can! Sit with them and talk about everything you shared, they're the only ones you shared those experiences with! Keep up the great work, love what you do!

33.9 was the price of gas when I got my license in 1973. By 1974 it was close to $2 a gallon. I’m not really sure of the exact costs but I do remember my friends & I couldn’t go riding around anymore. I’m pretty sure my pay was $2.35 an hour. 😂❤

Please worship the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, THE LORD GOD and try not to worry too much about the differences between the different religions and denominations, try to think about the similarities and the things they may have in common more than the differences. Daily prayer is a fundamental part that many people do not practice although it is encouraged "Lord Jesus Christ, Sonof GOD, have mercy on me, a sinner" Please pray this now, pray the words as you read them if you cannot look and remember them
