Is the Quran the word of God? It presents itself as the truth.

This video tries to cover all miraculous stories in one place. One would rightfully ask why does God only show his miracles to iron age peasants living in societies beset by myth and superstition. Why do we not see this interventionist deity nowadays? It's ironic God shows himself to scientifically illiterate people while ignoring us that can record, verify and prove of a said miracle is real or not.
If you lived a few thousand years ago there was evidence galore. He was performing miracles so often but then he got tired of being so helpful
Got tired of being angry too. Wiped out the entire human race during Noah's time. Turned Lot's people upside down. Turned certain people into apes and monkeys. We have a larger number of human beings rejecting God and also practising homosexuality and less people also getting married than ever before. Yet God is mysteriously uninvolved despite these apparent offenses against him?

All seems very plausible considering the stories come from a time in human history well known for its scepticism, epistemology, and critical thinking. No reason to suspect any tall stories, superstitions, myths or fables here.

Haha! To think I once believed all these myths. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would say that. Great video compilation and voiceover. I must admit, seeing the images in relation to the ayats and listening to the music just made all the stories seem even more absurd! Have a great weekend folks.

I think the problem is observed in a couple of other comments, and that is: the religious follower can rationalize the most bizarre of stories. A Muslim might see the segment about Noah and the ark and think: yes, that's what happened, so where's the problem? I am reminded of the town hall interview of Richard Dawkins by the Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan, an interview concerning religious belief. Dawkins made the mistake of taking for granted that Hasan really did not believe that Muhammad split the moon. He was shocked to find that in fact Hasan did believe it.

Tim Jansen: Why would a rational man like Richard Dawkins bothers himself with a religion of a man from Arabic desert, and who lived 1400yrs ago? a scientist should bother himself with other scientists work not someone whose book is for those who believe in the unseen at it clearly states.

+Abdel Hamza There are many reasons why atheists delve into the roots of religious belief. Usually it is to negate the religious doctrine. There can be a number of reasons for that motive, including the bigotry many religions advocate, or the loss of basic human rights. Dawkins has said that as a teacher, he has a desire for people to believe that which is true rather than wallow in myth. He doesn't particularly care what religion, but the more some particular religion denies scientific discoveries in favor of mythical religious dogma, the more energy he spends refuting it.

Abdel Hamza science isn't an ivory tower reserved for scientists. There need to be people that axplain it to less knowledgeable people, so they can make decisions based on reality and not myths. Richard Dawkins saw that many people live their lives based on superstitions. That must be saddening him like it saddens me. To fight superstitions, you need to confront those who support it. When Dawkins met this guy that is educated, Dawkins believed that he was in front of a rational man, and he was surprised when he said that he believed in those silly stories.

Jesus crafting birds from clay and breathing life into him? - Infancy Gnostic gospel of Thomas. Verse 3 "And a certain Jew when he saw what Jesus did, playing upon the Sabbath day, departed straightway and told his father Joseph: Lo, thy child is at the brook, and he hath taken clay and fashioned twelve little birds, and hath polluted the Sabbath day. 4 And Joseph came to the place and saw: and cried out to him, saying: Wherefore doest thou these things on the Sabbath, which it is not lawful to do? But Jesus clapped his hands together and cried out to the sparrows and said to them: Go! and the sparrows took their flight and went away chirping. 5 And when the Jews saw it they were amazed, and departed and told their chief men that which they had seen Jesus do." Jesus not dying on the cross, but it only "appearing" to do so to his followers, while someone else was crucified in his place? - Docetism (which in Greek means "appear"), as Jesus is a spiritual being, he can't be fully human with a fleshly, material body. Descends from gnosticism based on Greek dualism and/Zoroastrianism. In one version, Joseph of Arimathea, who carries the cross in the Bible and is crucified in his place. The Quran, a wonderful mashup of previous ideas, all with a very human history.

Just as there was such a thing as Gnostic Christianity in those times with alternative Gospels now deemed non-canonical there was also Gnostic Judaism which had alternative narratives and different spins on "Old Testament" stories -I think the Book of Enoch was one of these -the story of the prophet Idris in the Koran probably comes from the Book of Enoch.

Of course many people won't believe in these types of stories. When i read the Quran and these stories- MOST of the time there is a lesson or point within it that extends beyond the names and places- there is a narrative that leads to a conclusion and if you read it in that fashion you can truly grasp something unique- even from these "over the top" stories.
@hannan4518
@hannan4518 6 жыл бұрын
ramio1983 I wish people would view them as such. Just stories to take lessons from. Problem is the quran itself refers to then as true and factual accounts of events. As shown at the end. But seeing this is allegedly the last ever message to humanity from the creator if the universe, it's very disappointing. All of these stories can be produced by a human. They aren't unique

Abdul Hannan: Yes man can do a lot of things, he has become able to answer all questions about the creation of the universe which he has begin exploring. He has found out how our ancestor The Primate Creature had evoluted slowly for a long long time as to produce The MAN as he is now. No other creature can evolute as our primate ancestor could do,not even a chimpanzee . Very rational and inspiring.

Abdul Hannan I read it. The video prove nothing and funny thing the guy is saying why ain’t god punishing people right now who are going against him. O why isn’t he revealing to himself to us right now. So he wants to dictate what god should do? Ya know the people who were destroyed before said the same thing. They literally beg for god to destroy them and once it happen they regret it. God says he has given each nation a time. God says And your Lord is Most Forgiving, Owner of mercy. Were He to call them to account for what they have earned, then surely, He would have hastened their punishment” He also says “And if Allaah were to seize mankind for their wrongdoing, He would not leave on it (the earth) a single moving (living) creature, but He postpones them for an appointed term and when their term comes, neither can they delay nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment)” [al-Nahl 16:61]: And your Lord is Most Forgiving, Owner of mercy. Were He to call them to account for what they have earned, then surely, He would have hastened their punishment. But they have their appointed time, beyond which they will find no escape” [al-Kahf 18:58] Adwa’ al-Bayaan (3/263) Consider not that Allaah is unaware of that which the Zaalimoon (polytheists, wrongdoers) do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror” And let not the disbelievers think that Our postponing of their punishment is good for them. We postpone the punishment only so that they may increase in sinfulness. And for them is a disgracing torment” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:178] As you can see god is postponing the punishment. For whoever wants to repent or thoes who reject god to continue down their path..

So what part of the Abrahamic roots of Islam, makes Christians and Jews, Kuffar? I have my own copy of the Qur'an, the first hundred or so pages seem to do nothing but set a tone of hatred and mistrust of the other branches of Abrahamic faith? So I asked a Muslim friend of mine, why this was, he just laughed at me and said, you need other Books and scholars to explain it to you! Not such a perfect word of god it might seem then, I thought.

Nice compilation but no umph! There is a quiet assumption that doesn't make it incisive enough. It needs more comparison and leading questions. For example the story of Jonah. In the Bible scripture there is a reason the goard and vine grew around Jonah at least but it seems the Quran just throws it in there to throw it in there, to pretend to knowledge. Yet it's like Mohammed is trying to barely mention certain points in order to allude to knowledge but never really demonstrates it convincingly. For he will go into meaningless detail where he cannot be exposed and in other cases mentions things that are meaningless without the original biblical subtext. Unable to distinguish wjat is important amd essential from what is not. To me this shows his "knowledge" was scanty and rather than correcting anything about the Bible which is the claim believimg Muslims adopt to explain meaningless and trivial di discrepancies between the biblical and qur'anic narratives, while that particular reason is never mentioned as the point in these cases rather it seems it more likely explanation would be a desire by Mohammed to simply get away with saying or alluding to something in the barest outline and get credit for knowing more in his affectated reticence.

Andre Stefen appreciate your feedback. The Miracles like this have been debunked over and over again and making another video of the sorts would have been redundant. From my own experience and being an ex Muslim, most of the believers themselves aren't aware of the scope and magnitude of absurdities found in their own books. Putting all these stories together would really put things into perspective how one can say this is God's last ever and best work. The desired effect was to show the stories combined and maybe spark a light in one's mind that these strories are indistinguishable from mythology and just outright bizzare.

I understand what you were trying to do, but I think this video is more impactful if you already question the existence of God and miracles. If you already do believe in miracles and that Allah is all powerful, then I don't feel this video will be as much of a challenge by simply asking "Is this really the truth" and "from God". If the Quran is _the miracle_ , then maybe if you where to challenge if these stories are of truly divine origin or *human* that would have a stronger impact. Did these stories preexist the Quran? Why did those people create those stories in the first place? Did Mohammad have access to those stories? What motivation would Mohammad have to reuse these stories? You have forgotten the challenge between God and Ibliss. Please tell me why would a man like Muhammad try to deceive people? How could he had done what he did as no one has done, especially when he is a tribe man from desert?

Siddique Katiya because Quran is the most perfect book ever written? If so, it should be extremely clear and it wouldn't need volumes of intricate explanations to bring the meaning that you want for it. What is unclear in "fight until there's no fitna and nobody but Allah is prayed to"? The verse clearly says that Muslims must fight until there's no religion other than Islam, but you can't say that so you pretend that there's a context. The context is that if you declare an open war now you will lose. That's it. Islam (like most religions) is only about power and control using superstitions.
