THE SAINT, THE ROMAN EMPIRE REDUX: Even back then every time i was there, i would reflect on the fact that it was a phenomenon, and on how safe i felt there. It was all about the music and members. Sitting on a banquette watching the most beautiful men from all over the country, in fact the world, or totally entranced on the dance floor, the feeling of brotherly love, and respect for ones space. Yes, everything came together like the once in a lifetime event that it was. I never missed a weekend, ever_ The best moment in Saint history for my money was a New Years Day party with George Hern, live on stage singing "I am what I am" when those lights flashed on every face on that dance floor was beaming with joy, the music started and i remained on the dance floor until closing. An indelible moment in my life. Indeed, how fortunate we were. Robert

Warren was so smart, so in touch, no airs or frills just real. Too young to depart, bless his soul

One last thing. The few women that were let in, in addition to being beautiful, were also very special. They knew how to get a party started ...

The Song referenced by Warren that he personally sang was “ Can We try Again” by Technique. I remember hearing it for the first time and wondering where did he get an accapella version? Later I found out it was him doing it live…… Priceless❤️❤️ miss you Buddy😘

Love Warren. It was so important for him to play there and he was absolutely qualified to do so.

Only one "correction " so to speak.. Warren and I both were the house DJs in a club called LEGZ on Long Island in late '78 / early '79. He played Thursday nights and I played Fridays and Saturdays. The lightman had a splitter attached to the headphone cue, so that he could listen to what we (as DJs) were cueing up and could use his instincts to prepare. So, No, Warren, it didn't originate at the Saint. BTW, this concoction was not my idea, but I thought the idea was so good, that I then incorporated the same practice at Uncle Sam's, which was the Studio 54 of Long Island at the time, and where I was a resident DJ, along with Charlie Bailey, Mike Arato and Steve Thompson. I'm sure Warren just forgot. We live in a very big/ small world. :)
