Amgen Scholar Diandra Frias (Washington University, St Louis 2024) talks about how helping to take care of her father with Parkinson's Disease inspired her to pursue research.
Since 2006, the Amgen Scholars Program has provided hands-on research opportunities under world-renowned faculty mentors to over 5,600 undergraduate students. The program is hosted at 25 premier educational and research institutions across the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and Canada. Scholars benefit by conducting a research project under top faculty, participating in seminars and networking events and taking part in a symposium in their respective region. Financial support for students is a critical component of the program, which helps ensure that eligible students, regardless of income, can participate.
