Good information there, thanks. I have a dahlia in the soil that has produced lovely yellow flowers , and is still flowering. Would you recommend taking the tubers out and storing over winter?. Have had a couple of frost's lately. (Derby) Would it survive in the ground over winter?. Thanks

I think it is best to put them in storage.they will come back depending on weather and slugs.but will not come back no where near as good.i will take mine up soon, when frosted well and dying back so all the goodness goes back into the tubers..will do a video on doing it soon.dont want them to dry out too much as they wont come back either ,its all about timing.if you want to do it now just cut the stems back 3-4 inches above the ground.carefully dig up and get all the soil off.rinse if needed.then dry for a few days till fully dry on the outside.put in a card box with few holes with few wood shavings or dust.then I put them in a cool dark place where no frost is.like in a garage or shed.not too cold to freezing but not warm so they start to grow.hope it helps ,been growing them for 5 years now =)
