I was on another plane coming from Poland. After three circles around Dublin pilot attempted a landing but it was so bad that he had to pull up and instead go for Stansted airport. There we waited 7 hours in the aircraft after which we were sent to the terminal just to go back in the same plane after another 7 hours waiting for the morning flight back to Dublin. Absolute chaos.

7 hours in the aircraft?
@lsmolaАй бұрын
@@engineer4862 Yes, we landed at 3 PM and left the aircraft at 10PM. In the meantime information was almost non existent apart from the occasional rumors. Airline also left one stuard to tend to needs of all people stuck on the aircraft. When you think about it it really looks deliberate, by leaving us in the aircraft it was made sure we wont be able to book any hotels due to early flight back next day thus they would not have to pay for it, we bought literally everything on the plane and airline is not responsible for all situation due to natural causes (storm)....They basically hit a jackpot.

hmm did it say gusts about 46knots..the limit for 320 is 38
@richardp2240Ай бұрын
The crosswind limit is 38 knots, the 46 knots is the total wind from the south west. It would be a combination of both head and crosswind.
@jukkap.5722Ай бұрын
@@richardp2240 yeah well i dont know about the weather conditions that much...my son operates both 320 and 330 aircrafths and he said its way over the limit
@richardp2240Ай бұрын
@@jukkap.5722 You clearly implied the crew operated outside limits because you thought the reported wind equalled a 100% cross wind. It has been explained to you that it did not. It was the total wind not the cross wind component which is the sin of the angular difference between the runway axis and the wind multiplied by the wind's strength.
@jukkap.5722Ай бұрын
@@richardp2240 well as i said..not sure what the conditiouns were at that moment..i know lots of planes cancelled approach...

@@jukkap.5722 You quoted the wind in your opening post! Quite happy to answer a reasonable question (I have forty years of flying experience) but please don't publish implied fault and negligence about a crew who were working hard and having a pretty tough day. You clearly don't understand what a crosswind component is so don't keep digging.
