Right? It almost looks like rain. I'm from nyc and we haven't seen any blizzards yet and it's kinda sad and scary for us since this is the coldest month in NY. Our blizzards are heavy, thick and it stabs you in the face when the snow mixes in with ice. Just look up blizzards in nyc here on KZbin and you'll see what I'm talking about lol. We cant obviously state with any precision the degree to which our actions influence events like this, but it's clear the climate is changing. 3 decades is NOT a long time in geological timescales, its not even a long time in human timescales. The news has always spun the weather, they get more views and make more money this way. It will probably be back to 100 degrees in another month. The world is not ending for billions of years, most likely.

@@frankmacleod2565 no one said the world is ending. The planet will do fine without us. The point is changes in the climate will (and already is) affecting human and animal life. One example, here in the UK one of the staple foods has always been potatoes. But farmers are saying now it’s becoming harder to grow them. They might be subtle changes but enough to make a big difference in the long term. And yes, there’s been huge climate changes in the past but those happened over millions of years, not a century.

@@MsPinkwolf Apparently lots of people think that climatologists are saying the world is going to end, I've gotten more "chicken little" comments than I can remember. I totally agree with you. Generally the climate changes very slowly, that's what's a bit alarming about the current changes. Converting all that coal, oil and gas to gaseous vapor will have already had a substantial effect on atmospheric chemistry. Aircraft carriers, container cargo ships, jetliners, coal plants, bulldozers, all while stripping the old-growth forests worldwide, the effects we have sown have only barely begun to show themselves.

Blizzard waring was not for city of Los Angeles, but was for parts of Los Angeles County which is 1,500 square miles and encompasses a mountain range and elevations above 1,000 feet. Even with easy access to info, BBC gets it wrong.

Some areas of Los Angeles County got more than 4 feet of snow, the blizzard warnings are for areas above 1,000 feet, you're on the internet, go check it out. I live at the beach but can see mountains over 10,000 feet from my patio which are less than 75 miles away. We can surf and ski all in the same day.
