Stormers' flyhalf Manie Libbok reunites a nation through rugby

A calm hand at the wheel, the Stormers’ flyhalf has been part of a team who upended all expectations to win the first United Rugby Championship. Now enjoying a break with his girlfriend Verna-Lee Arries, while rehabbing his shoulder, he had his first free time in a while.
Growing up, Manie would spend his days playing rugby in the streets of Humansdorp. From a young age, he knew that he wanted to pursue a career in the sport that he loves, with his biggest goal being to play for the Springboks one day.

Ah I have seen Manie Libbok time and time again. And since he joined the Stormers, I really am glad. I like the oke and he seems really good at his flyhalf position. It almost seems to me that young up and coming players go around the country, get ok results then come to the Stormers suddenly find their feet and then move to the Sharks. I don't quite get the thinking. Stormers get the guys who haven't quite fitted in, then make them legends and then they decide to move to the Sharks. Most like the Stormers are a rehabilitation centre for up and coming rugby players. And why always to the Sharks?

Money…they don’t get paid very well at Stormers. In fact Stormers is a great club but they not doing well financially. Sharks has big sponsors from overseas so yeah.
