HI Alex, You're "How to Play" tutorials are tremendous. You break down the rules into comprehensive, "bite size" pieces that really help me get my head around the game. I've gotten a lot out of your videos and refer back to them quite a bit. I just wanted to let you know and say thank you.

Thanks Robert, that's really good to hear! I'm glad they are useful for you and help you play the game! I keep meaning to make more, but they require a huge amount of time to set up, write and film! But I will do at some point in the future.

Yeah pretty much, as long as you have some way of recording casualties. I would add few single based figures as well, just to use as casualties or to bring an odd numbered section up to the right number. it's what I do.

I’m setting up to play the Action at Galmanche scenario in the Rulebook. I’m currently wondering how I should keep track of each big man (allied 8 and axis 5) in addition to keeping track of each platoon #. I’ve now got a bunch of little papers on my table that remind me of the platoon, it’s number, the big man leading them (some have 2), and also the rank. I feel I’m doing something wrong and I’ve not even started playing yet. Help me SoSWG, you’re my only hope.
@StormofSteelWargaming

I found with a big game, like my Stalingrad one, the best way to deal with this issue was to make a list of each unit/big man on a sheet of paper with the name of their card next to it and refer to that when you pulled a card. You could mark the base of the Big Men with their card number, as an alternative. I also toyed with marking the platoons like this: www.stormofsteelwargaming.com/2020/01/platoon-markers.html

I could never figure out when to activate a support mg, specialty unit, or infantry gun - there isn’t really card for those units
@StormofSteelWargaming
@StormofSteelWargaming 4 жыл бұрын
There are blank cards within the deck that can be used for that exact thing. Alternatively, you could just make a new card with the specific unit on it. Usually though MGs are part of the platoon or company, so would activate with their cards? Also a specialist unit could just be numbered as one of the platoons and be activated when that platoon card is drawn. The good thing about the rules is that they are not prescriptive and it is up to the player to add or subtract what they need for their games.
