@@LongIslandRailfanner A mallet is a locomotive in which the driving wheels are split between two sets and are articulated in the middle, a garrat is articulated but not in-between the driving wheels on both sets, of which the locomotive shown in the video follows a regular garratt setup, thus it's a duplex garratt and not a mallet garratt.

@@tri-washington3683 Duplexes use a rigid wheelbase and Mallets use a compound system by using the steam twice not to mention Simple Articulated steam locomotives exist like Union Pacific 4014, C&O (Western Maryland) 1309 etc and only use the steam once
