STORTYTIME: I WAS SCAMMED BY A FAMOUS MODELING AGENCY?

Hey guys so due to the fact that we are all at home heres a scary creepy story time that happened to me a couple years ago. Always keep your eyes open for red flags, do your research because there are always going to be people who want to trick and harm you.

Girl IDK why you didn't make this before! Yes, this is how I feel about those little "pay to play" modeling agencies that pray on young girls dreams. My niece was sold a dream to only be told she had to pay 2K a month to be a signed. They didn't do it, but if they are asking youuuuu for money, its a scam!

Yeah its was like several agencies that this happened to. And omg yes! I remember how crazy it was for me it was like that thing that tells you go because you have to make sacrifices in life you never know what might happen, risk it. But this time it wasnt a good outcome. I look back on it now and its wild but its a reality check to be careful cause there are still some bad people out there who want to hurt you.

I appreciate this story time and actually reminded me similar to what happened to my friend and I, the difference was that the casting was made known in our college at the time, but thankfully no money or harm was taken or done to us! I'm still aspiring to model though and this just reminded me to call an agency by their official number if I ever get and email/text/Dm whatever it is, crazy world we live in.

@@Mairaly the school sent out the flyer so we emailed them (they were unknown but we thought hey this can start our portfolio), they required background info like photos & address (very big red flag we clearly missed). Later through the week they told us the location would be out of state and also asked for bank information to deposit the check they were planning to pay us for our work, one of my friends ended up getting the check but her bank protected her from the account, after asking why it was necessary for the job to be out of state when the poster said nyc they just stopped responding, super crazy, I just thank God no one came trying to look for us, my other friend did indeed file a police report, and we also told our school and asked why did they set that poster out in the first place.

That initial e-mail from them at 3:49 should have been the first red flag! That e-mail screams "SCAM". First of all no legit modeling agency will establish first contact with you via an e-mail. They will somehow get your number or stop you on the street to talk in person. Second of all the grammar in that e-mail is horrendous. Modeling scouts are usually very educated and don't start messages with "Hi there" or make a ton of grammar errors. They also would not mention designer labels in the e-mail. Seems they were trying to get you excited. You should have never responded to that e-mail.

exactly, I was too naive back then to see any of that because I was so new to all of this , also considering a pretty dark moment I was going through,it was pretty impressionable but thanks to that I know now and question everything! Thats why I share what happened because while I think like that TODAY not many people are there yet.

@@Mairaly In short if something seems too good to be true it probably isn't true. I am a man and back in 2002 when I first moved to NYC at 24 I answered a couple of modeling ads and one of them wanted me to pay them $200 for a photo session and the other wanted me to pay them $700 for a bunch of courses. Needless to say I didn't go through with any of them. I very happily left NYC in 2012 LOL. It's awful there IMO. Try to go to school for something legit like nursing or accounting, because the entertainment industry is on a downward slope and very hard to make it there now, plus there are a lot of scams and predators out there waiting for their next victim. Take care of yourself sweetie, since you are a girl. Even us grown men have to take care of ourselves with all the creeps out there (I am gay so I know, I run into so many creeps), so imagine how the World is for a young attractive woman like you.
