Claes that’s the closest to the actual “505 SE combination in weight. The 505 Medium Top with the 2000 SE is different but pleasant combination to my ears, but I’ll try the bottom on top someday soon.

Wow, you have tons of options and you got a great deal on that bottom hat cymbal! I sure wish there was a channel on KZbin like yours that talked about and Frankensteined Zildjian cymbals.

Great video, all the hats sound great. I use my 2002 Big Beat top w a Sound Edge bottom all the time and the same as you were talking about, I use the bottom for when I want a bigger sound!

I always love the covers but I really love the stories. I’ve heard bits and pieces of the 505 story before but it’s cool to hear the whole thing. Congratulations on the 2000 SE bottom. I have a 14 dimensions prototype top I pair all the time with a RUDE SE bottom that I really dig. And my 15 giant beat hats have so much sizzle in them already I don’t think I’d ever need the 2002 SE’s.

I recently picked up a pair of 15” 2002 sound edge hats, replacing my 14” Zildjian new beats. I will not go back. 😎 My rides are either a 22” 2002 paiste, or my tried and true 21” Zildjian A rock ride.

I know what you mean ... if you go Paiste it’s hard to go back! I had a Zildjian ROCK 21” ride as a kid ... I’ve been looking for an old 70s version of that cymbal ... it was heavy but my first ride! 😁thanks for watching!

I love switching gear around especially on hats. I picked up a 14" dream bliss in a trade, its a thin crash, dident really go with what I've got. Tried it on top of my 70's zildjian hats and like it's chrispness so much I've just left it there. I'm the only one that hears it so it's problematic. Really enjoyed this video, put my earphones on and listened again. Lots of info there. Thanks for the comparison, really enjoyed it.
