Story in the South

The competition floor at the 2015 South Regional was reminiscent of the CrossFit Games, with many big names in the field. The biggest story was perhaps 2014 Games champ Camille Leblanc-Bazinet’s move from Canada to Colorado, putting her in the South.
Another transplant on the women’s side, three-time Games qualifier Margaux Alvarez, moved from Northern California to Texas earlier this year. All eyes were on the two women as Alvarez ended Day 1 in first before giving way to Leblanc-Bazinet on Day 2.
On the men’s side, former Games athlete Roy Gamboa kick-started his weekend with second- and first-place finishes. After missing the Games at last year’s South Central Regional, Gamboa said he’d been working his weaknesses and was ready to tackle the competition.
An event record was set at the South Regional when Amanda Goodman crushed Event 7-the muscle-up/clean ladder-in 1:21 flat.
The South Regional will send four rookies-Travis Williams, Adrian Conway (a two-time Affiliate Cup champion with Hack’s Pack Ute), Maddy Myers and Chad Cole-and six vets-Gamboa, Jordan Cook, Leblanc-Bazinet, Alvarez, Goodman and Jenn Jones-to this year’s individual competition at the CrossFit Games.

These women will definately be prepared to survive when armageddon hits they got what it takes. Even rhonda rousey is a good female role model as well as all the other female mma fighters out there theyre all awesome! Im glad that they are starting to break the stereotype of what women can and cant do the only reason why its looked down upon is because thats what society teaches females how to be and its wrong. females and put down and surpressed soo much because of this im glad that this challenges the norm. +tapilaha as far as I can make out they're not doing the carbon isotope ratio test, and they get at least 12 (maybe even 24) hours notice of a test. So yes they test, but nowhere near the level to guarantee that all these athletes are clean. The minimum they need to introduce is a biological passport, but even that won't be enough with TUE's etc.

+SomeoneWho ActuallyKnowsFitness ... I wouldn't go so far as to say unimpressive. Sure, steroids and other PEDs help you lift more for longer and reduces recovery time ... but that's not to say that the commitment and level of training isn't astounding. You'd be foolish to think that the CrossFit elite are actually 100% natural ... they just aren't ... but at the same time, even if you pumped everyone in your gym full of hGH and testosterone, there would be a minuscule amount of them that would come out even being near competitive against these guys and gals. On another note, you'd be equally as foolish to think that PEDs aren't highly used in nearly ALL professional sports. And no, I'm not a CrossFitter, but I do admire the shit they do.
