This is story of a past glossed over by new problems, the story of maitatsine, the possible origins of boko haram and some of the series of events that led to the kano riot of 1980.
The kano Maitastsine riot of 1980, one that resulted in the death of thousands. The root causes were propounded by a man called Mohammed Marwa, a native of Cameroun. This is a story of how it came to be and the metamorphosis over the years.

It's very dangerous to not remember history or to think that it's something that's over and done with. It's a long road and we're just at a particular point on it. If you don't remember the past, it becomes dangerously easy to fall into the same traps - the ones we thought were over and done with. I have developed a love of reading history, and even though you're reading about different times with different technologies, you start to see that people are, pretty much, always the same. We always have the same needs, desires, faults, etc,

Very true … man has changed so much but has also changed so little … the fundamental reasons for almost every war , radical movement , etc are always similar regardless of time , race , place . Thanks for watching Loretta .

I watched my first documentary of yours today, and I enjoyed it because of the nostalgia it brought of those times. The problem is when u try to philosophize and bring in for instance Nietzsche to align him to NAZI ideology and draw parallels… your take is actually elementary; there’s more to it than that. When you spend so much time trying to cite thinkers and thinking it would accord it some intellectualism, that actually has the opposite effect. There are people who spent their lives doing this and who may consider your efforts a bit above your pay check. So respectfully, stick to the storytelling. I am sure you know Mr Ballen podcasts, he doesn’t try to over-intellectualize and has excellent followership. Consider doing the same. That way real intellectuals will not be put off. You are doing a good job, regardless.

Are the video footages with people in white real?
@AVeryNigerianCrime
@AVeryNigerianCrime 2 ай бұрын
No, it is a propaganda film produced by the government after the riot to “educate” the public … it wasn’t objective and didn’t talk about the root cause …
