Not to dismiss this man's patriotism and good intentions, but one does not "win" the Medal of Honor. It is earned and awarded. Also, despite his claim, 42 persons did not receive the MoH for simply allowing the flag to touch the ground. (That would be an insult to those who earned it for acts of valor.)
@Sure_You_Betcha5 жыл бұрын
I noticed you stated that the courts decided when life begins... An obvious call-out to Roe vs Wade. Roe vs Wade didn't determine where life begins, the court believed that there simply wasn't enough scientific evidence to suggest where life began and it wasn't their responsibility to dictate the science of where it began without more facts. They actually would have ruled differently today due to what we know.

Didn't the supreme court pull abortion rights out of their posterior in the 70s too?
@emh79564 жыл бұрын
@jfsfrnd If a woman's personal health only concerns her...fine, but when it involves taking the life of her innocent baby...what about the baby's personal health? What about the right's of the man involved? What about grandparent's rights? Abortion involves more than just a woman. Also, it is a known fact that many women suffer terrible emotional guilt and regret after terminating the life of their innocent baby. The baby depends on the mother to protect and provide for him/her.
@emh79564 жыл бұрын
@jfsfrnd I never said that I want the government to monitor and force women to go through pregnancy. Women make a choice when they have intimate relationships and if that results in pregnancy, then they have invited another human being into the relationship. That human being is just that...a human being...not some tissue to be cleaned out and discarded. I only invite people to consider the MORAL implications of their choices. People need to be accountable for their choices.
@emh79564 жыл бұрын
@jfsfrnd I never said I want to enforce anything. It is a fact that when someone has an abortion, they end a life. That isn't my opinion, that is the truth. Rarely is an abortion needed for the physical health of the mother. In the end, does an abortion give a woman the peace of mind that she seeks? Many times, parents or a boyfriend push her into it, or she thinks it will end her "problem" . Does it? I would invite any woman considering abortion to consider adoption as an alternative. I'm not trying to "force" this moral option on anyone but hope that it will be considered.

Please accept this as constructive criticism - Your title, "Story of The American Flag" led me to believe this would be a historical account of our nation's flag whereas it was only given a brief mention of a little over 2 mins. How Wikipedia describes David Barton: Barton's work is devoted to advancing the discredited idea that the United States was founded as an explicitly Christian nation and rejecting the notion that the United States Constitution calls for separation of church and state. Scholars of history and law have described his research as highly flawed, "pseudoscholarship" and spreading "outright falsehoods"Barton's official biography describes him as "an expert in historical and constitutional issues". Barton holds no formal credentials in history or law, and scholars dispute the accuracy and integrity of his assertions about history, accusing him of practicing misleading historical revisionism, "pseudoscholarship" and spreading "outright falsehoods". According to the New York Times, "Many professional historians dismiss Mr. Barton, whose academic degree is in Christian Education from Oral Roberts University, as a biased amateur who cherry-picks quotes from history and the Bible. Jay W. Richards, senior fellow at the Christian conservative Discovery Institute, said in 2012 that Barton's books and videos are full of "embarrassing factual errors, suspiciously selective quotes, and highly misleading claims." The Southern Poverty Law Center describes Barton's work as "anti-gay" "historical revisionism", noting that Barton has no formal training in history.] A number of writers have called Barton's work "pseudohistory".
