12 animals cross the line but for each one, an opponent is on the other side. Ex. Dragon and dog do not get along. Bitter rivalry. However, dragon, monkey and rat get along with each other. (Add 4 years to original starting animal). My ex gf is a dog and I a dragon. We could bare to stay together, beakers like cat and dog, and many uncomfortable moment. I marry my current wife, an ox. Though we have arguments, we cherish each other. She is a workaholic and also a tender wife and mother. I have learned to quell my anger given by a monk to name me (meaning peaceful and tranquil). I was always angry until my teen to practice peaceful mind. Dragon has 5 elements. For me, it's fire which got it's unsavory mood. My wife try many times to anger me and some succeed only to quell me. I would go off and close the door to not speak a word for hours and days. She knows that I am angry and she snuggle up to hug me. It cool me down. Majority of the time, it's not easy to anger me because I learn as a teen to meditate.

The alliance formed between the goat, monkey and rooster is remarkable! None of the 3 tried to beat the other 2 to the finish line, they all just wanted to cross the finish line. :) And the kindness of the dragon, taking care of the needs of other living things - equally remarkable.

It's a very interesting story. The only thing that bothered me is that Eastern Dragons don't have wings. (But that's just me nitpicking I thknk)

Rat is smart and quick witted. You are special in your way. The only 2 animals, horse and ox, are burdensome. My mom is a horse. She is beautiful and majestic but work got the best of her. My wife is an ox, she is workaholic. The best animals are dragon, rat, pig, and monkey.

The real reason why no cat is that when Chinese zodiac was invented there's no cats in China yet.
