Story of the Recruitment of Tony Dorsett to Pitt

I remember Tony as a classmate in a public speaking class at the old YMHA. But the biggest football memory I have is the 1976 WVU game at Pitt Stadium. Tony runs out of the tunnel and then over near the WVU bench, raises his index finger as if to say, I'm #1 and you'll never catch me. What balls! WVU gets fired up but Dorsett ran all over them - he was unstoppable.

@@_DB.COOPER when someone is the all time leading rusher it just means they had the most attempts. i don't need stats to convince me. i have eyes. Emmitt was slow. Fran Tarkington was the all time leading passer in the NFL for many years. he was never best qb ever. there are a few RB's better than Emmit. Dickerson, of course Barry and Tony just to name a few. Bo Jackson would have been the best ever.
