I'm going to recount this story and vent about it a little bit at the same time. Thanks for hearing me out.
Oh! And I forgot about how John mentions that, whenever he notices a flaw in a woman, he immediately becomes indifferent to her? For example, Jasmine looks almost as nice as her sister, but she's "bow-legged" and her hands and feet are too big or something... Like, John sucks as much as anyone else in this story. They're all garbage. And I know the point is that wealth--and the love of it--are a kind of prison/flaw... These people are "flawed diamonds" maybe, but ugh. This story is not well told, nor are the characters well rounded enough to earn interest. They can barely be tolerated.
btw, the author of THE OTHER HALF is Charlotte Vassell, not Villers like I thought.
