After a long day on Venice Beach I took my shoes off and I went to Venice Beach break water and walk through the water it is right there where I got my first job on Venice Beach selling ice cream and sodas right on the beach that was about 30 years ago It felt like yesterday and a lot of stories popped into my head when I first came to America

I got a story from Iowa. Late 1940s and early 50s. My mom left a little town outside of des Moines and took I bus to Venice California . She got a job at Douglas aircraft where Marilyn worked before she was really a star. In the daytime she weight trained on the beach , and swan. At 3p.m.went to work. She meet a body builder on the beach who was actually from des Moines. They got married and opened up the very first health club in Iowa. To this day I weight train. Love me it.

I grew up a couple miles up the beach from Venice, across the marina jetty in Playa del Rey in the 60s-70s. It was a calmer more quiet beach. As I became a teen, wanting to get our own pad, we all headed to Venice to live because believe it or not, it was cheaper! Plus it was waaay more exciting stuff going down at Venice beach! I left LA years ago but I do love watching what's going down there now! Thank you

Things really changed now but at least you came at the tail end of it and got to enjoy it for real. Haha, now is weird and our future is unknown but you actually give me some kind of hope and I don't know why. I am 70 and you are young like my son but your positive attitude about the problems makes me forget mine. I was so sad to hear you in a recent video when you said that you were so depressed but I am happy you got over it fast. Still, you are human too and hurt like us but you got something stronger in your mind. I think your mother was very nice to you and she looked so cool in a recent video.
