Early 2000s i got pulled over and poured my Styrofoam on the carpet inside my car. They pulled us out the car to search and while they did that they had us stand by another cop by his car. Whole time i was downing the rest of my 1 liter which had about half of it left. They seen the empty cup and fresh ice on the floor. Came back and asked if i was sure it wasnt alcohol that i spilled lmao. I said naw and they asked to smell the now EMPTY big red bottle. He smelled it and let us go. I was still pissed tho because the drank was dried up that night and i was assed out after that. I got a few stories like that from the late 90s early 2000s in port Arthur

One of the 1st times I ever po’d up right before Screw died my homies lady got prescribed a pint and all we had in the trap was a bottle of tequila rose that thick pink shit. Mannnnn I po’d a 4 up in my cup with probably 4 o’s of tequila rose boy that shit was fiiiiiiiiiiire 😂. This was when grape swishers 1st started popping off because before that we use to roll up Peach Optimo’s I had just got in a nice little load of some old school purple Reggie before dro (medical) was really on the streets. I grew up in Phoenix and I wont completely incriminate myself but back in the late 90’s we use to trade some stuff with dudes in California for small loads of their hydro marijuana but it was very very uncommon to find on the streets for regular people. Anyway I remember falling in love with the drank that night because everything just went so good together my purple drank with the pink liquor and my purple Reggie with the grape swishers.

10,000 for some 84s back then is around 20,000 in todays money. For your average street guy they were hard to find, hard to buy and hard to keep unless you were bout it and head on swivel at all times. You had to be somebody to ride them and keep them. Nowadays everybody got'em...the slab game aint what it used to be, it hit way way different back then.

Man Mike D Its so much to unpack from this story!! If you can, answer these questions for me. Its wild to hear about how free flowing the drank was, did yall feel yourselves falling into the addiction? Or was it just the lifestyle so it wasnt thought of as something to be addicted to? Also, man how much money was in the streets in the 90s for you to be counting 1.3M at Bam's?!? You gotta write a book mane, most of these names i only heard on Screw Tapes so to get the background info is wild

Between 98' and 04' me and my crew used to break into Pharmacies for drank and pills to sell on the streets. We had a good 6 year run before the feds got involved. During that time, I was living in Ville Platte Louisiana and everyone and their momma was sipping drank. I've personally had cases of gallons. Brown plastic bottles with handles. Had a few brown glass ones but those were rare even back in the 90's. So to say that..." Louisiana wasn't on that drank back in the days " is complete bullshit. I can remember hitting my first Pharmacy in 98"... we didn't have sodas and all the stores were closed... so we cracked the seal on a gallon and started drinking it straight outta the bottle. Louisiana been on drank... long before we knew of Dj screw or H-Town street Culture. Even as a child... my mom used to make me and my siblings drink lean out the bottle before bed. Neither Screw or H-Town introduced me to drank... I got mom dukes to thank for that 😂
