Daniel Flores in my freshmen year of high school, aka i was 14, there was a health class. we spent a LOOOOT of time talking about safe sex, appropriate ways to put on a condom and so on. point is, sex at that age happens SO MUCH MORE than you think, especially with batshit hormones running rampant. this story could have been avoided with contraception and education.

to any young girl in a relationship, please please realise that things like this can wait. thanks to first hand experience, i know how awful and stressful a pregnancy scare can be. i know you’re curious and that but honestly. my pregnancy scare was the worst 3 weeks of my life. my mum was absolutely fuming (as i was only 13), my (SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD) boyfriend didn’t give the slightest shit, and i couldn’t tell anybody around me. needless to say that relationship was the lowest point of my life. i’m 15 now. please, it’s so tempting to start getting into things like this at such a young age but it’s so worth it to just wait until you’re able to handle sex and pregnancy.

I’ve been seeing a lot of young people getting the wrong idea from this story so I want to point something out; Sex is a normal part of life. At the end of the day, it is your choice when and whether you want to do it. As long as you are doing it consensually, safely and with someone you can trust, there is nothing wrong with enjoying it. Just make sure you always have a back up plan if things go south because contraceptives (eg birth control, condoms, diaphragms, IUD’s, implants, etc) can fail. Also, never shame someone for choosing to do it / choosing to not do it, because everyone moves through life at a different pace and that is perfectly okay. I hope that everyone reading this has a good day and stays safe!
