Our NAVY speaks like they are operating the 7th fleet. they talk that they had the capability that u.s had. Our navy downplay a chinese a carrier with a j15 aircraft with a capability to launch PL-20 missile with a range of 400+ km that can threaten u.s AWACS,bomber and tankers. which can disable u.s carrier ops capability. the u.s are aknowledging chinese aircraft capabilty to launch such missile. in order to catch up they develope an airbone variant of SM6 missile(AIM-174) just to catch up with the chinese. It may appear that the chinese is weaker than with u.s in terms of capablity . just put in mind that chinese doctrine are diffirent from u.s. their sole purposed is destroy a u.s aircraft carrier or a battle group. Unlike the u.s which providing ground and air support when there are conflict.
