Weird to hear Escudero and Pimentel rationalization of Cons of divorce. Both annulled their first marriages. What is the difference? Annulment is granted by the Catholic Church and cost is affordable by a few only. For non-Catholics, Divorce is the best choice.

The Catholic church doesn't recognize civil annulment & so they have their own church annulment law as part of Canon law. It's fine if the civil divorce will only be for non-Catholics but they should not base it on the religion of the petitioner at the time of marriage. If that will be approved, many Catholics will change their religion. 😁

Irreconcilable difference and abuse are exactly what it means. There's nothing else there. There's no such thing as an "American divorce". It's human right. There are more abused spouses and children in the Philippines that can't escape a horrible marriage because there is no divorce. Divorce and annulment are different. Big YES to divorce! If you and/or your children are not victims of physical, emotional and mental abuse, celebrate! But extend your wisdom and empathy to those who need freedom to live with self-dignity and self-preservation have absolute divorce! Marriage is a sacrament, so is life and happiness. If religion can’t pay for people’s annulment (which process is close to impossible) or hospital bills, then it’s not relevant to advocacy of human rights. One will never know the pain until you go though it, priests and the “righteous” are the least ones to know facts but the loudest lecturers😅, duh! Even the most predominantly Catholic countries have divorce a looong time ago.

in my decision you should let people have a choice of annulment or divorce as alot of people cant afford annulment. And there are of people that are in the phillipines that cant move own because they can move on because they are still married, and please help make this people move on to better lives if they had bad experience in there marriage and did not work out at all. And make sure you that people in the phillipines should reasonable price and not expensive at all
