For bolts/rivets I use sewing pins. And for fancier looks, earring wires with pretty ends look great too. They come in different metal finishes. Thanks for the inspiration 😊

I've made the spoked wheels for a wagon and it was a pain in the a$$. Later I found a pack of wooden disks in various sizes at the Dollar Store that I've used for all my other wagon builds and I quite like the look - sort of heavier, more "rural". Very similar to what you have here without having to cut circles out of foam.

Spoked wheels wouldn't even be used on large wagons like this one. Not only are they flimsier and thus wouldn't support all that weight, they would be easy to destroy. A medieval wagon wheel for something like this would be three or four boards cut in a circle, then banded and then braced and given a hubcap.

Definitely a very cool wagon build. I'd love to see you build one for a traveling troupe. Wild, garsh colors everywhere!

I thought maybe lengthening the upper platform to act as a roof for the driver. A railing around that platform and widening the upper so it would overhang the lower half, both to allow more room inside and defense, with some arrow slots facing out and down. Maybe a bendy straw, with a zigzag for the stove pipe. Loved the video, thanks again. John S.

All really good ideas that if I ever make another one of these I might have to incorporate! Thanks for the inspiration!

That looks like a fun project! I like your treatment of the wooden components, (and your wheels look fine to me.) As Medieval armored wagons go; I think no-less than Jan Žižka would give this a enthusiastic thumbs-up! Subscribed.

What if you use pins to make the rivets? The inside of the cart isn't playable so you may not even need to trim them for length.

Love it! Think the solid wheels look better than spoked ones would have done for an armored wagon, they make it look a lot more formidable.

Loved watching this. I am always indecisive and love how you talk out your thought process. I also lack the ability to draw much but love to create things. I was hooked from that line and now I'm a sub. Thanks for the fantastic video and inspiration!

if you really want a soot stove top you can also take a little baking soda and black mod podge and stipple it on where you think the soot would settle. It gives it tat soot grimy look.

It looks good besides where the driver sits. If pulling an armor cart you would want the driver to be safe behind armor as well.

An armored wagon with spoked wheels is just waiting to get hobbled by bandits. Solid wheels were definitely the right choice.

For an armored wagon, I wouldn't even bother with spoked wheels, and probably not foam either, just go with the wooden discs and upgrade it with some card pieces to reinforce them

The solid wheels make sense due to the weight of the wagon. Spoke wheels would look to flimsy. Great job

A wagon like this armored would weigh a ton so solid wheels is for sure how they would build it. Metal armor was super heavy even in DnD that is why a character wearing full plate has disadvantage dex(stealth) checks. Spoke wheels would be attacked also because they are easier to break and disable the wagon.

Honestly, those wheels are probably more medieval than wheels with spokes.

For the rivets, I'd have gotten a cheap packet of sewing pins (2000 of them for $7 from the evil empire of the river that will deliver)... lifetime supply

Actually, those wheels make more sense for such a heavy vehicle rather than one with spokes imo.

This a good build but FAR from epic. Epic would be far grander with lots of features but mostly a ton more detail. Epic takes months to build, not a weekend. I feel baited. Ha.
This is my new favorite map maker.
