During the recap of this movie, the lines Robert De Niro's character said during the hearing to Brashear request to return to active duty: "The Navy Diver is not a fighting man, he is a salvage expert. If it is lost underwater, he finds it. If it's sunk, he brings it up. If it's in the way, he moves it." That says alot for this kind of movie, one of the few that truly says 'don't ever quit'.

Cried as a teenager when I first saw it back in early 2000s. Got teary again. First time I never felt racism cus I hadn't left my country then. Years later, I can understand how it feels more. Guess I can't watch the full movie again without being hostile to any white person that looks at me in any kind of way where I live now. I have thought about quitting my current job cus I don't feel comfortable here. When you presence makes some of your colleagues feel unease, it affects you to an extent. Being constantly judged in the worst thing one can go through.

Unbelievable movie. It is not the fact that you can't do something but the fact you are discriminated against for being the first ethnic minority for trying. Thankfully this gives more determination to fulfill your dreams and people of all colours see you are just a man/women trying to gain respect in a position or job you deserve because you are brilliant at it. To save a life is a heroic achievement and many have been passed that privilege because of culture, so sad that nothing should matter except putting the best person regardless in that situation to succeed

@@mal1k0 😂 you must be naive or ignorant to just say that you love all of your black people like everybody is completely innocent and pure. You probably love the black people who celebrate Black Culture, but you can't possibly love every black person. I'm considering the fact that every black person, in a lot of black people's lives did not leave a good impression。

Nice content. To me trading the forex and crypto market is way better than any online investment

Brother Brashear is a bad a**. To endure. Such horrible treatment. And still be strong to carry on. Super glad someone recognized him by making a movie. Anout his life. Cuba Gooding Jr. Did a great job.

The title of this video, with it’s terrible English, physically hurt me. I was sure nothing in the video itself could be as bad. 11:27 “he proved to everyone that he succeeded about his success” I was wrong. Who writes these things?!

You are divine but those sick ones see colour. That makes two of us brother. When we see one another, because of love we must see God first.

+Rebel, he definitely went to Captain's Mast a couple of times! He can kiss those good conduct awards goodbye! LMAO. There was a LPO at one of my commands wo treated his division like shit. He used to always brag about his "Gold Chevons". His division turned on him and he got sent up. He didn't get busted on but DEFINITELY had his golds removed. 🤣
