Oh rain rain rain rain… The first time I saw this during the premiere I just sat in shocked silence afterwards and the only coherent thought I could think was that if Netflix doesn’t give this master storyteller his own show, they’re fools. Since then one of the things that gets me the most is the father telling a FIVE YEAR OLD to learn to be a man. No child at that age should think about anything but being a child. If you let those first words from the father properly sink in, it’s not so surprising that things only get worse from there. Unfortunately, Jimmy ends up living for his greedy father’s approval. He hangs on his every word and follows his guidance so much that he gets completely lost when the father is no longer there. So instead of finding freedom, he spirals. And Jimmy is just an exaggerated version of all of us. It could be anyone under the money bag, blinded by greed, with the wrong guidance and pressure. Ren makes it so painfully clear that we really must instill the right values in children before it’s too late. And we all need to do better TOGETHER if we don’t want greed to destroy us all. So much wisdom, and he shares it all through clever rhymes, genius storytelling, and beautiful music. A truly special artist and one that the world needs 🐰🕳️

For me the bag represents that society is blind and he is trying to open our eyes like in money game 1 when he drew the eyes on the mask at least thats how i see it
@rogerstarkey539027 күн бұрын
Then...... WHEN "society" sees the Establishment for what it is, you get ? Revolution. The system burns and resets. Notice any similarity to what's occurring in USA? (Ren used the UK in MG2, with "Downing Street"... The symbol of the UK Establishment)
@tomhoremans250627 күн бұрын
I totally agree, but I’ve seen a couple of other interpretations that make sense too. It’s Ren so I’m guessing he probably left this open for a multitude of interpretations intentionally (a bit like the pig mask). Of all the possible these are the ones that make most sense to me: 1. Blinding people as you mentioned. 2. The bags visually quite literally reference (upside down) money-bags as they typically appear in cartoons (see Simpsons clip in MG2, Donald Duck, etc) 3. The ropes around people necks symbolise slavery, people cannot escape the control that our greed driven society has us tied up in. 4. Taking the rope theme even further, you might also add a noose-reference to that one. The way the knots are tied seems to also suggest that parasitic greed has got such a tight grip on people, it’s almost a life-threatening or at least a life-long type of control… You’ll probably find lots of other possible meanings that fans have attributed to these bags/masks, and each and every one of those will have certain merits of their own. The stuff I summed up here (in no particular order btw) isn’t trying to be exhaustive by any means. I’m merely adding my own personal pick of possible interpretations I’ve read (that imo really make sense) about this particular imagery which appears to be left open to quite a lot of different interpretations. If had to choose the ‘best’ one out of those possible meanings mentioned above, I’d say that the most insightful way of trying to understand and give meaning to the bag-imagery here, would be not to exclude any. What I’m suggesting the fullest way to understanding the imagery lies in combining all possible (not nonsensical) interpretations, however still allowing more weight to individual interpretations depending on the scene (so in the eyes-drawing-scene in MG1 the blinding-interpretation would gain weight, whereas noose idea would come more in front during more suicidal scenes)… Grts from Belgium and sorry in advance for bad English ✌️
@dreamwalklady580526 күн бұрын
That’s also how I’m interpreting it. Although, it’s clearer in part 1. For me, the person with the hood is all of us, playing The Game (like he’s playing the guitar) at the whims of the powerful, played by Ren. He’s in control of The Game (he has the guitarist tied up, makes stop and start when he wants). But Ren is also the bard here, he’s the teller of truth, opening people’s eyes (when Ren draws the eyes). With their eyes wide open, with knowledge of The Game, the people gain a certain amount of power. They can stop playing, making The Game collapse, self-destruct. Anyway. I’ve watched the trilogy so many time 😅 I think what I took out of it changed each time.

One thing I didn't see until I watched the behind the scenes video is that before Daddy talks to 5 year old Jimmy he is playing with his toys and after he is reading. Daddy's message at that point isn't "bad" but 5 years old is a little too young to put that kind of pressure on a kid ("learn to be a man"). Let kids be kids.

If you go back to MG1... You have... The Rain, (a storm coming) with Ren as the Establishment, protected by the poncho, Coiling the rope which controls "us", as Romain, "The population", plays along and obeys instructions. . The "Saint into a Sinner, Child into a Killer" from Part 1 (Meet Jimmy) (Political interlude....) . When the people gain sight..... The "Storm" (Reckoning?) comes the way of "The Establishment" which loses protection (The poncho removed) in part 1, The Establishment "burns" (Also ref "Number 10 Downing Street" in Part 2) .... Revolution? Mirrored in part 3 as Jimmy returns home during his storm, also without protection. Jimmy takes his own way out. . Part 1: The System. Part 2: The method. Part 3: The Example. . Collectively, Genius.

This is a masterpiece, obviously. But after seeing it so many times, I like to pick out certain moments that make me giggle. Ren can't properly fold a suit jacket but he can load and cock a gun like he's done it a few times before and not just in rehearsal. 😂 I remember him pointing out how they didn't realize his shirt was untucked in the back until later. The BTS on this is such a great watch.

So I see mg1 as the history of the money game; MG2 is the political side of the money game and mg3 is the individual growing up in the money game ❤ there's a BTS of this shoot by Wolf Johnson that is amazing 🤩 one version is around 40 minutes. A second version by popular demand of us Renegades is out and so worth watching even though it's like 2 and a half hours ❤ As a Renegade I recommend the long version because it's amazing to follow this journey over the course of like 2 days. So in mg3 we have: Actual rain rain rain rain rain 🌧️ the mirror pointed at himself, the saint becomes a sinner, the child becomes a killer, the actual world turns (as Jimmy's world burns: his father dies)❤️ there's more: layers and layers upon layers ❤😂 Great reaction ❤❤

Money itself is not the root of evil, but the Love of Money IS. Money is just a tool for easier trade, but some abuse the tool. In the 1988 movie, "They Live", staring 'Rowdy Roddy Piper', aliens have 'Cloaked' everything so humans would not discover them, but with special 'Sunglasses' people could 'See' the Truth; my point, when 'Piper' wore them, he looked at money and it was plain paper with the words "This Is Your God"; everything else had cloaked messages also. In our world today there are people that Worship money like it Was God. With messages like this song, maybe 'We Humans' will wake the 'F' up, and strive to change the ills of this world; and Only worship 'Our Creator'; however, one's Faith defines 'Him'. God Bless!

To me, it's an old fashioned money bag and being over the head, they can't see the money game because they are blinded by the money (bag). Thus drawing eyes, allowing sight in MG1. In MG3, everyone has money bags over their head, because everyone is part of the money game.

I’ve received a lot of likes and hearts for the following post that I put on multiple reaction videos, but I got one reply that said, “Don't put him up on a pedestal Bryan, it helps no one, least of all Ren"; so, am I wrong for posting the following, given that this is how I believe? I’m not trying to elevate Ren to being ‘Christ Like’, just that a lot of his music is Prophetic, with messages that I think might be inspired by God. To anyone who reads this, please respond, if you will, I would like some feedback. If people really think that this might be hurting Ren in some way, then by all means, I will stop posting it. Here is the post, thank you. I've said it other reactions, and I will say it again; I Believe Ren is a Prophet. Like Prophets of old, Ren was challenged by "Our Creator" with illness and suffering to test his worthiness to bring "HIS WORD"; Ren has proven his worthiness. He speaks/sings 'Truth', bringing messages that 'Mankind' NEEDS to hear. In the song "Sound of Silence", there is a verse where they say, "The Words of the Prophets are Written on the Subway Walls, and Tenement Halls"; Ren brings the 'Word' through his music. God Bless!

I don't think it was money that did it to Jimmy. I think the pursuit of money is what perpetuated Jimmy's downfall. We need more people to hear Ren's music & for this to be a narrative we all understand & discuss. I really enjoy your reactions. Was a fab 3 days. Having to wait for the next video was slightly frustrating... being the constant dopamine chaser that I am. But I came back for them all! Was a great set of reactions 💖

You don't have to react to it (would be awesome if you did, but it's a very long video so would make a very long reaction), but I really think you should watch the behind the scenes for this video... Ren really breaks it down and you learn a lot that you may not get even watching this a few times.
