This made me laugh SOOOOO hard because the way all the guys gave you attention when you went to the army and the only guy you were interested in was the one who didn't! That is EXACTLY how it worked with my husband too! He was the only guy in my church youth group that would not give me the time of day and just like Jesse he was like "why bother" and he also was like "she thinks she can have any guy she wants, but she can't have me"!
