These words are at the vanguard of a post-modern, radical leftist ideology that I detest, and which is, in my professional opinion, frighteningly similar to the Marxist doctrines that killed at least 100 million people in the 20th century. I have been studying authoritarianism on the right and the left for 35 years. I wrote a book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, on the topic, which explores how ideologies hijack language and belief. As a result of my studies, I have come to believe that Marxism is a murderous ideology. I believe its practitioners in modern universities should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to promote such vicious, untenable and anti-human ideas, and for indoctrinating their students with these beliefs. I am therefore not going to mouth Marxist words. That would make me a puppet of the radical left, and that is not going to happen. Survival of the Ideas. Because if your idea can't survive in the wilderness on its own, its not worth spreading it. It will most likely kill itself, like socialism did many times in history. Edit: I'm tired, you know how the saying goes...
@SilverLining14 жыл бұрын
@@googleuser9383 I strongly believe that ideas behave exactly according to evolutionary laws. However, one consequence of this assertion is that some ideas can act as diseases: quickly contracted, hard to fight, and spread quickly and far. Social justice, from its name and presumed motive alone, achieves all three, since it's easy to push via goodwill and hard to fight because you'll get called a nazi. Of course, its also a parasite on well-established societies and kills its host. Point being, survival of the fittest doesn't always create the strongest creatures, or in this case ideas. If you focus on the societies that get hijacked by socialism, you could say that, because they were weak, their destruction was fair or inevitable. But like with actual evolution, it will take a lot of time and casualties before you find the breed that's resistant. I certainly don't want Western civilization to fall for such a trivial reason as assuming the socialists would fail on their own.

Nah, it's just people who have learned that they can weaponize social shame in order to dominate others.

I'm appalled. I still find it difficult to believe that such a law has been passed in Canada. I had always thought it was a civilized country.

Mary sia Lol, that’s pretty darn accurate! I’d love to be there when the real world slaps these ungrateful, self entitled twits in the face.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Jordan Peterson is the hero the world so desperately needs.

I know he is agnostic, but he is literally spouting the words of Jesus in his interviews. That is probably why his words cut deep, because when truth is proclaimed ears that are open to it will hear it. A lot of problems in this world were created by persons who proclaimed Christianity. But inversely the good that has come from Christianity is exponentially greater. Similarly We don't judge cars by the deaths they cause annually, versus the good that they bring to this world. Because ultimately they bring more good than bad. Jesus words are true and powerful. You have immense value simply because you are you, and I hope you one day finds an answer for those deep questions you have in your heart that no one else can seem to find an answer for. The world needs that hero more and more.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If I had a public forum and I could have any guest speaker I wanted, my first choice would be Dr. Jordan Peterson.
