Guruji , sreemaatre namaha. Whats the significance of karthika masam, why is shiva ans tulsi worshipped during this masam? And whats the significance of diwali why is it celebrated? Why do we worship lakshmi and kuber during diwali?

Sri Matre Namaha, Amma let me answer all of your questions in detail. When you see all our festivals that we celebrate, each and every festival stresses only on one concept that is "when the evil raises, God comes in some or the other form and destroys the evil". All the festivals stresses on dharma sthapana. That is why in vishnu sahasranamam is it clearly mentioned that "Paritranaya Sadhoonaam Vinashaaya Cha Dushkritaam, Dharma Sansthapanaarthaaya Sambhavaami Yuge Yuge" The meaning of this is whenever there is evil in the world, i will come and do dharma sthapana in every yuga. So coming to karthika masam significance, karthika masam is connected to lord shiva. soon after Diwali, karthika masam starts. It is said that during karthika masam whoever prays to lord shiva by chanting rudra namakam chamakam is blessed with enlightenment. When our mind completely becomes dark due to ignorance, that is when you light many lamps in karthika masam to request lord shiva to fill our lives with enlightenment. The lighting of lamps represents your quest for spiritual wisdom. And this spiritual wisdom is filled by a Guru In our lives. Lord Shiva is considered as Adi Guru(Guru of the whole world). So when we pray to lord shiva during this karthika masam, he will bless us with a Guru in our lives who can impart spiritual wisdom in us and help us in getting liberation. Guru who comes into our lives is Lord shiva, he has completely absorbed shiva tatvam in himself. He will come into your life and destroy ignorance in you by imparting spiritual knowledge. Your next question is why shiva and tulsi are worshipped in karthika masam. I already explained why we worship lord shiva in karthika masam. Let me explain you about tulsi & amla worship in karthika masam. So karthika masam falls during winter season it is the start of winters. prakruthi has three different tatvas vata, pitta & kapha. According to Ayurveda, During winter season kapha inside our body increases there by reducing our body immunity . In each and every season the prakruthi gives us different types of seasonal fruits, vegetables & herbs which protects us from diseases by increasing our immunity. During winter tulsi leaves and amla are very beneficial for our body to increase our immunity. They consists of Vitamin C which helps encourage the production of white blood cells known as lymphocytes and phagocytes, which help protect the body against infection. When Kapha dosha increases in our body it creates Heaviness, Lethargy, Laziness, Constipation, Poor appetite, Indigestion etc and due to this we cannot concentrate on ourselves and this disturbs our spiritual development. Hence we worship those two trees so that when we consume them they will protect us from any kapha related problems. Your next question is significance of Diwali. We celebrate Diwali in the victory of killing a demon called narakasura. Narakasura represents our worldly enjoyments and lust. After praying to Goddess Mother during navratri and killing different demonic weaknesses within ourselves, there is this another demon who is called narakasura who represents our worldly enjoyments and lust. So we pray to goddess Lakshmi who is the personification of auspiciousness. Goddess Lakshmi & kubera doesn’t mean money. Both the sakthi’s represents Auspiciousness. They can destroy lust and materialistic nature in you and take your mind to a level of abundant spiritual auspiciousness.
