Fantastic Mozart 5 cadenza on the Gennaro Gagliano violin, and what a great sound. Congratulations to the performer, Sofia Manvati, really impressive playing. The Paganini 5th caprice is also superb.

Great video! It always interests me as to why a certain culture, dynasty or simply a humble family trade disappears over time. Of course everything has to come to an end so the end is inevitable. We are talking about a period where the world was being dragged into a modern era and it would seem quite plausible that successors headed in completely different directions. As an aside, I was very interested to note that apparently there is an active maker today directly descended from the Klotz dynasty. Amazing when you consider the length of their Bavarian dynasty and how long ago that was.

-The narrator should listen to some English speakers - very hard to follow. The girl plying the Mozart cadenza and the Paganini is great! Who is she?

It is Sophie Manvanti. I had absolutely no trouble at all with his English and had no need whatsoever to refer to the subtitles (I am Australian if that makes a difference since I have heard people from different countries can have difficulty with accented English). We Australians seem to be lucky - we can understand any English - even the most contorted of Scottish and Welsh accents!!
