What would be more cost effective? A nice off-the-shelf lift kit for the factory IFS or a custom D60 swap? Parts for a store-bought kit might be easier to replace than custom stuff. Keep that in mind if you are really going to be wheeling this thing away from home.

Cost effectiveness is definitely determined but I’m a machinist/tool&die by trade and have access to everything from lasers to press brakes. So custom built will actually be cheaper for me than a bolt on. But like you said, it’s the getting 12 hours from home and something happens 😬. I’m thinking Dana 60 for simplicity and durability for that reason.

@@brokennsmoken that's a good point about the durability and I have no doubt you can make whatever you need. Were you thinking leaf springs for the front or coilovers?

@@DiscoBiscuit21 that’s the toss up 😂 leaf is simpler. Coil overs would (I think) ride better until death wobble 😂😅

I have a square body sitting on a newer chassis that I have left ifs. I haven't driven it yet because I don't have the engine in. I would leave it ifs. Parts are cheap and they go forever without issues with normal use. You can get a 3" lift for $400 or less
