Now I know why DJI won't release SDK support for the Mavic 3. They wan't to sell that Flight Hub 2 subscription ;-) This is a good tutorial. I was interested in pinpointing waypoints by coordinates. However - I never got that far. After having selected the straight route waypoint type there is for me no option at the top right to select that symbol as shown in this tutorial. I only have the lupe, the diamond, straight line and the square at the bottom...

Unfortunately, Flight Hub 2 doesn't actually support the Mavic 3, only the enterprise version of the Mavic 3. But the workaround in the video just happens to work, although a bit long-winded. Unfortunately, I don't have access to my work Mavic 3 at the moment or flight hub, so I can't check the issue you're having with the lat, longs, but will have a look when I get chance. There is another way to edit the waypoints by opening the mission in note pad on a PC and directly editing the lat, longs. I'm thinking of doing another tutorial on this method. I also read it's possible to use Litchi Mission Hub to do something similar to Flight Hub 2. Not tried that yet.

@@kevwaite Thanks, Kevin! Yeah, I didn't have the window to the right that shows Latitude/Longitude like in your video...

Thanks saw your FB post, a useful guide, had heard this was possible to do with such a workaround. Hopefully the functionality in the DJI Fly app natively will improve as well as being more stable in the future.

I hope so too!

Excellent work! Thank you for this. I don't have a M3, but I have several Enterprise products including M3E and M30T. Question: What happens if you copy, edit or add to the new saved mission within the FLY app? Will it add straight lines or will it default back to curved? My idea is to create a straight lines "master mission" and then just copy that mission, and edit it to create new straight line missions, all within the FLY app , wihout the need for PC connection or renaming files. Another idea: Send me a curved lines mission from your M3, and I will attempt to edit it in the DJI Pilot 2 Enterprise app, directly from my Enterprise controller. You can then try to upload it to your FLY app to see how it behaves.

I've been away flying for work with the Mavic 3 for the last few weeks, along with many other multirotor and fixed wing drones. This was the reason I needed the M3 to fly straight waypoint routes. I haven't tried editing in the Fly app by adding additional waypoints to see if the added ones maintain straight lines as for this work, I had 20+ straight line missions pre programmed to fly repeated times over the 2 weeks. I have found a bug in the waypoint flight part of the Fly app. It doesn't affect the flight, but the actual black flight lines lines randomly move on the screen. Never change position in flight and even though the line has moved the M3 still navigates between waypoints correctly using straight lines. I have also discovered a way to create straight flight lines from a curved mission, created in the Fly app, by directly editing the mission file stored in the Fly app, not using Flighthub 2. I can also move the waypoints to different positions by using the same method. I was thinking of trying to create a mission using the Pilot 2 app, but discovered it's not available to put on an Andoid tablet and the M300RTK I was testing a while back with Pilot 2, I don't have in work at the moment. I will try editing a mission file by adding more waypoints and let you know how it goes. I can give you a curved mission to see if editing in Pilot 2 app would work.

Thank you for this tutorial. I would like to ask you if I can make a cycle or not ?

@@kevwaite i would like make circle by waypoint .. so is there way to make it?
@kevwaite Жыл бұрын
@Even Way ah, sorry, got it now. You could use POI, Point of Interest, feature. That will fly a circle around an object, building or area you define, while pointing the camera at that area. But it's not a waypoint mission. Unfortunately flight hub 2 software does have the ability to curve the turns, but the Mavic 3 ignores the curves. The standard waypoint feature in the DJI Fly app curves the turns by default. If you place many waypoints it would make a circle, but not a perfect one. Hope that helps

This didn't work for me with my new M3 Classic/ RC. I was able to copy everything over to the RC, rename the old and new/correct flight plan, and saw the plan appear on the waypoint mission page. However, when i had everything ready to go and selected the flight plan, got it loaded on the main screen and hit next, it crashed the app/RC. I was able to manually create a waypoint mission in flight and was able to re-fly it multiple times, but the FH2 method didnt work.

I tried this just now and although in DJI Fly the lines are straight, the M3 atill performed the usual arcing motion between waypoints. It does not go to a waypoint, take the photo, turn, then fly toward the next. Especially, i tried making a grid pattern as i was doing a capture for an Ortho Map and at the end of the run and the next 2 points it would arc between the 3

there is no waypoint icon on the screen on the left side. I confirmed the software is the latest version why?
@kevwaite Жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm guessing, because you haven't said. Are you talking about the DJI Fly app? Have you updated the Fly app from the DJI website as well as the firmware on the Mavic 3? If you haven't, then the waypoint feature will not exist in the app.

When editing on your pc, make sure you selected straight lines, no other options work except curved or straight.

Ah, I think I know what you mean. Sometimes the displayed route looks distorted but it still flies the correct route. Not ideal but still works.
