I visited my friends in july who live in Rotherham, they took me to a car meet in Doncaster where their son and his mates had their cars on show. Walking around i saw this beautiful red saab and took a couple of photos, and checking the number plate its the same one, gorgeous car but there was no one around to ask about it. Well done on following your passion and putting the rest of us 9-3 onwers to shame👍

Absolutely gorgeous 9-3 wagon, and very nice upgrades. I have a 9-3 tid (Z19DTH) saloon which has a straight through exhaust with twin pipes, and yes it does make an interesting sound and does sound a bit like a plane. Same suspension set up as yours plus the Hirsch grille and Maxton Design front spoiler. Very nice job.

as an American, it's very strange to hear that sound coming from a Saab. Lucky you guys! sounds amazing.

Recently bought a 9-3SC Aero TTiD. I instantly fell in love with that car, but people talking of bad reliability scares me. I have had zero problems so far, knock on wood, but I'm a bit anxious something might go wrong.

Man I wish we got the diesel engines in the States! That would have easily sold since it would have been a competitor to the VW tdi. Good to know the factory dual mass can handle all that torque, that will be very helpful for my big turbo 2.8 9-3 Aero. The f40 definitely is one of the best transmissions saab ever used!

Hi, appreciate this is now a couple of years old but this is a beautiful build! I have a 2010 but nowhere near in as good condition! Question - I thought [from what I've read] that EGR delete was illegal and would not pass the MOT? Thanks!
@HarrySwettenham26 Жыл бұрын
You are right that removing the EGR and DPF is illegal and would result in an MOT failure. However, my 9-3 1.9 TID 150 had problems with the EGR sticking open which resulted in the DPF filling up quicker, and sometimes causing limp mode until it had been driven for 20+ minutes at 50mph plus in third/ fourth gear. This was particularly annoying when I had to catch a flight from Manchester Airport and the car decided to go into limp mode on the 90 minute drive to the airport. Luckily, after 45 minutes, it did a regen with the power now back. After my holiday, I stopped at the local Saab Specialist in Manchester who diagnosed as a sticking EGR and that could remove it from the ECU. I elected for a stage 1 remap which also included the EGR and DPF delete. It passed it's MOT recently with no issues whatsoever. If you have problems with the either EGR or DPF, then I would encourage you to delete them and remap it with a reputable company. As long as the DPF is still on the car (cut open from the top so doesn't look like it has been tampered with) it should pass its MOT.

How does a manufacturer like Saab fail after producing vehicles like this gorgeous example in this video(2008 9-3 Aereo 1.9TTiD Hirsch)?

Wow, it looks amazing! I love the red color on a 9-3 wagon. A picture from the car before all the changes would be nice, i think you did an excellent job to give such much love to the car! I have just a snow silver one from 2010, but i always fall in love for a red one.

Fantastic car! I own a 9-3 tdi waggon 79k FSH. I live up Bolsterstone way I’m sure you’ll know it. I find the car terrible driving up our hilly roads or on hill starts which sometimes can be dangerous if the hill is steep the car will lose power and stall, ( been driving 40 years) I presume due to lack of torque and boost. I thought of a re-map but not sure if that would help as my experience has mainly been mid range improvements with these. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark
@HarrySwettenham26 Жыл бұрын
If you're thinking about remap, then do it. It will transform the car. I have a 9-3 Sportwagon TID 150 and had a stage 1 remap with DPF and EGR delete. No more limp modes and so much extra torque. You will just want to keep driving it and you will fall in love with it all over again.

Hi mate. I have a 2010 ttid 93 Can ask who mapped it? I need a map for mine and cost of the exhaust? Is it just from the remains of the dpf back? Sounds right that does.. Cheers mate hope you don't mind me picking your brains..

Depends on where you are in the world, if you can ship your ecu to Norway, MG motor(ingvar) is the place to go... he maps hard but well within the safe tolerances
