Straight piped Peterbilt 389 - American Truck Simulator | Thrustmaster TX

A 35t Volvo wheel loader transport from Salmon to Ketchum in a 8-inch straight piped custom Peterbilt 389 with a 515HP DD60 (Detroit Diesel Series 60) engine, driven with the Thrustmaster TX Leather Edition w/ T300 base running at 1080 degrees of rotation and the th8a shifter in American Truck Simulator (v1.42).

depends if you have a double clutch like my dads truck or not if you have a double clutch you can't touch the clutch or you will break the clutch brake

I almost made a fool of myself when I wanted to write that I liked this Caterpillar engine. Being an engine sound geek, I went to check youtube for Series 60 sounds and gosh, they nailed it. It sounds perfect. Nice driving. Thanks. P.S. I thought J brake was kind of Cummins specific, but seemingly not. It sounds gorgeous here, too.

@@DB7GamingSimulator There seems to be a small glitch though, even if the Jake brake is from a DT60 (I think it's from a Cummins though): the sound of a Jake brake doesn't match the engine speed, but the transmission speed, since it's a braking sound, same as retarders (pardon my English, I'm not sure I know the expression). Otherwise it's just the most perfect sounding truck ever.

One of my favorite trucks is my W900 with the series 60 Detroit Diesel engine but it doesn't sound like this, but it doesn't have straight pipes either, is that the difference? I need this sound! I'm very impressed with your driving. This simulator truly can teach you how to drive and swing wide. However much of a game it it : you took it seriously and manoeuvred the way your supposed to. Alot of that will not be tought at cdl school especially hauling a wide load. Really appreciated watching that simulation. You handled it like a champ not running into shit lol lol. Sure thing! Technically incorrect. The round dash was introduced on the 379 in 2001, and the mirrors were changed to door mounted in 2005. The headlights are 389 headlights, but the hood is a 379 hood. Viper doesn't offer a true 389: he has a 379 with some 389 parts. The 389 hood is shaped a little different and if memory serves a bit longer.

@@Seriousmods incorrect about the hood. The hood is the exact same from the early models of the 389 to the late models of the 379. While the 379 offers a long and shorter hood, the 389 only offers the short variant. Although it has changed throughout the years, you could argue that this is the early model short hood from 379 and 389 are the exact same and not one or the other is different so theoretically it could stand on either side of the argument
