A nice theme to the great movie, by Angelo Badalamenti, who when he puts his mind to it, can produce some seriously good stuff like this. This is relaxing , and used in the movie when poor old Alvin is slowly chugging through the Iowa cornfields. I dont own it, like i said, Angelo Badalamenti.

"There's no one knows your life better than a brother that's near your age. He knows who you are and what you are better than anyone on earth. My brother and I said some unforgivable things the last time we met, but, I'm trying to put that behind me... and this trip is a hard swallow of my pride. I just hope I'm not too late... a brother's a brother." The most beautiful quote i have ever heard in a movie

Damn, I was almost crying just listening to the song. Your comment ended the work :_)
@kallemick
@kallemick 4 жыл бұрын
@@newschoolvintage6241 Thank you very much for that kind comment :) Yes i think the quote itself is enough to shed a tear in me aswell at times :) The funny thing is after watching this movie and hearing that quote i started to wonder why there are so few "Brother" relationships in movies that are portrayed this perfect? The reason for this thought is that the music alone here reminds me of a feeling i often call "Home" because i imagine that if Home was a feeling this Music and a summer sun going down between some pine trees while i sit on a porch with a cup of tea and a loving wife by my side then thats the idea view of "Home" for me in the future :) But on to the "Brother" part... The home i imagine with the pine trees etc are reminiscent of my Grandmas old House with a big garden She and grandad moved out in 2008 after living there for nearly 40 years into something smaller... They had a Enormous garden with flowers and a big blue Spruce tree in the middle and a small pond with gold fish in it... Sometimes in the summer i loved the feeling and mood of the garden when the sun was going down between the many trees My younger brother and i used to play in that garden alot :) Sometimes even camping in an "Adult" sized tent like a few feet away from my grandma and grandpa but we had the tent as a sort of "Base" and then we sat in there just talking and playing gameboy games etc (Yeah early 2000's XD) But having a younger brother just like Alvin in the movie i felt that Quote hit my alot harder than it would if i was the younger brother or even an only child.. :) I loved the quote because yes my brother and i have had lots of good times but by the time we entered puberty we were like each others worst enemies nearly tearing the house apart by shouting at each other alone.. But you know today me and my brother are in our 20s (As a matter of fact i turn 25 in just 3 days from now) and despite are indifferences or even similarities and thoughts at times that "One would be better off without the other" Then for one second i have no doubt in my mind that even at our worst we never would be able to live on without the other :) And while i dont live in America But in denmark and my brother these days have moved on his own to Cypern (The greek part) Then regardless we still keep in touch after all these years through the wonders of "Whatsapp" since he doesn't have facebook.. And yes after lots of fights and arguing and other stuff from childhood and up since we both had our own issues... Then today we talk as though we have been close forever even with a long "Pause" in the teenage years :) And believe me i know the feeling that Alvin struggles with in the movie too... I mean you may not always keep in touch or be the best of friends but really "A brother is a brother" regardless and i stand by that until the day i die even with all that has happened between me and my own brother :)

Whoever believed that of all the movies David Lynch made, he could nail it out of the park with this simple, homespun tale of an undertaking of the heart. the side stories viewed along the way, from the deer lady to the bickering 'twins' adds some of his earlier thematic content. Living on the great plains now, a transition from the forests and shoreline of New England, I was struck by the moment in the movie that shows Alvin from the rear, sitting atop his tractor...the frame moves upward to the prairie for several moments and then back down to Alvin. You'd expect there would be more distance between him and the camera. As he is still so close to the camera when he comes back into the frame, you develop an idea of how far he has to journey and the time it takes to develop any distance at all.

I loved how pure and sweet this movie was. David Lynch really does love simple folk - and is a simple man at heart - its not just a prop that he uses for clout, and this movie proved it. It was like Lynch realized that Straight was not bigger or smaller than him. I especially liked how well the film fleshed out Straight's character. This was a vet who had been badly wounded psychological by the war and was looking for some kind of transcendent redemption - mostly for the war - only he does get close to that end with his brother. I would go as far as saying that Straight was wiser than agent Cooper/the omnipresent boy wonder Kyle Maclachlan character, who we have spent so much time with in Lynch's cinematic world. Straight is the true "lone American hero."

Bound and determined to help this song get over 1M views this week. It's beautiful. It's legendary. It both haunts and fills my soul.
