I like your ideas on redesigning zeus, and I think if I were to redesign him, I would make it so that the cracks also reveal some animal-like features- a bull's horn from his head, eagle feathers/claws on his arms, etc.

Anahita was my favourite by far. I made a password one when i reached the endgame with invitation/salvation/luster candy/debilitate/Dekaja/Enduring Soul/Reflect weakness. She was my main healer/support. Also, Strange Journey best SMT ! 👌

I don't know what it is at this point but so many times character designs that are split black-and-white just make me think of Monokuma. Like I know that isn't the intent obviously, but it is such a prolific character that that is the only connection my brain makes.

Monokuma is, imo, one of the few designs to do that where it actually looks really good

Amon is probably my favorite demon design in SMT. Very intelligent, cunning and dangerous looking, especially in 5. The kind of demon to make a deal with you but withhold crucial information about it and horribly betray you.

In my opinion I wouldn't have minded demiter more if she wasn't a loli, i mean she's supposed to be a fertility goddess and persephone's mom. And the crack for Zeus' head would also work in reference to the birth of athena

I think Zeus would work if he had two forms like an all white form then his half white half black form like if the story initially presented him as benevolent and you helped him but then you realize "oh no he's a jerk" and fight him and he changes into his true half n' half form.

I really like the design at 11:02 , reminds me of something out of A Space Odyssey, or something out of a Xenogears/Xenoblade game, adding even more into that Sci fi theme this game has.

I'm aware, but MegaTen games often treat it like a Lucifer/Helel situation and have regularly used the exact same design for either name.

@@strain42 Yeah, it's so weird, no idea why they do that. Makes things so confusing. Is Dx2 the only game where they're listed as separate demons? I mean it's not like both designs appear in the same game that often, I think Dx2 might be the only one.

Asura's redesign was in Smt IV and Apocalypse.

Strange Journey came out before IV and apocalypse though??? SJ originally came out on the DS, 4 and 4A came out on the 3DS

You’re right. Sorry, my brain got fixated on P5, SMTV, and SH2 so I was only thinking about games where the demons have 3D models and didn’t explain that. That’s kinda the problem with not having a script 🤣

@@DeltaOdyssey Well.... Dante did write about Minotaur in the Divine Comedy (Dante's Inferno to be exact) search this if you wanna read exactly Inferno, Canto xii. So yeah it been proposed atleast that Morax is related to Minotaur, i mean both of them is just Half-Bull Half-Human Monster really.

I never noticed that Angel Zelenin was barefoot until you mentioned it. Now I CANT unsee it! Gonna be blunt. Designs like Asherah really make me think Atlus should make a romantic SMT game that shows romances between male summoners and female demons.

@@dljb7463 For crying out loud! It wouldnt even have to be a ironic joke project! I legit want a romance story with female demons! There have been actually a few cases in the series of Humans and Demons having offsprings. Such as Hallelujah from SMT IVA. Whos is the son of a human woman, and the fallen angel Samyaza (or Abe in his human disguise) Or Setsuna and Mirai from Devil Children, who are the kids of 2 different women. And the Morning Star himself. Lucifer. Although, in both of these cases. It isnt really elaborated on the relationship that much. And I am still confused as to why they even made Setsuna and Mirai half-siblings. And men, I have already talked about this in other videos. But I REALLY wish Anthony had gotten together with Skogsra! But yeah, I would love a story about a man just saying "Screw it!" to whatever conflict is going on. And succesfully getting together with his demon wife.

Eh, I don't really care for Strange Journey Asura. With the previous design you get a powerful pose and a really effective Colour scheme with the bright red contrasting the Gold and off-white cloth. All the colours on the new one are so muted it kinda all blends together and the way it's positioned it just looks like he's flailing all over the place.

redux still makes me upset because it feels like they went the extra mile to edit kaneko out of it (and no the extra portraits really don't justify that for me). i eventually bought it bc it was on sale on the eshop and played like two hours of it. i still wanna play the original some day
