I think local criticisms from think tanks and podcasts (Yah Lah But, Daily Ketchup) are more accurate (better analogies), precise (concise), and productive (non-political, genuine care) with their leanings and biases made clear (e.g. Haresh is an Idealist, John is a self-proclaimed 'government dog' ??? etc.). I feel like foreign opinions tend to cast wide nets that are too vague and directionless, with the hope that they will land on/catch something concrete. No recommendations to make here, just observations.

A lot foreigners do not care about SG or do enough research about the uniqueness of SG's context. They instead attempt to make ideological critiques. These critiques oftentimes are too vague and can be asked about many nations so it often does not have specic solutions or detailed analysis for SG. For this reason, they do not go far enough to add valuable takeaways to the listening SGC or to the govt of SG.

Other BFFs will try to help you but give you the wrong advice because they either misunderstand or do not realize that their ideas are dumber than yours. Then rarely, your BFFs have better ideas than you which is the moment you have to listen instead of being prideful.
