Ukraine crisis: British troops arriving in Estonia

A convoy of British Army vehicles and tanks arrived in Estonia on Friday February 25, 2022, as part of the NATO-Mission to strengthen the alliance's eastern flank.

Military lorries and flatbed trucks carrying tanks crossed over the Latvian-Estonian border a week after the United Kingdom had announced it would double the size of the British NATO force in Estonia.
The UK has about 900 British personal rotating on a regular basis in Estonia. This comes as other NATO members such as Germany and the US have also send additional troops and military equipment to the eastern flank of NATO.
After Russia had invaded Ukraine on Thursday February 24, 2022, the UK had announced it would send more additional troops to Estonia.

Well, it’s not like Ukraine’s small military is ever going to be the aggressor to invade Russia, isn’t? Given to Russian military expansion and conflict in recent years, it’s pretty clear what Putin is trying to achieve. Many of those former Soviet Union nations are seeking to join or the help from NATO because they are afraid of being bullied by Russia. Ukraine is a sovereign country and their people deserves the right to decide their own path.

@@QAnswer the only aggressor is of course Russia but Russia seems to be having difficultly with grasping the idea that if they stopped with the bully behaviour with for example testing how quick NATO countries can launch jets when Russian bombers approach and i don't mean countries near a russian border i mean countries like the UK are being tested regular like russia and the constant large number of russian troops near the border whereas NATO normally has a small number of troops on the border and if Russia had a conversation with NATO they could work things out which could even begin to make countries that aren't part of NATO that they don't have to join NATO just to feel safe

The Russians aren't going to the Baltic, whilst they have unfinished business in southern Europe, just my view but it would have made more sense for some of the smaller military nations such as Holland, Spain, Belgium to take on the role of guard duty, to free up the larger spending nations to focus on the higher risk frontiers (Romania / Moldova). Although Probably a good training exercise.

@@HermitGeek It's a good job we aren't acting alone then isn't it? Nobody has suggested the UK can 'deal with Russia' on her own. The UK is doing her bit, which is a lot more than can be said about other so called democracies around the world.

When an infantryman with a shoulder fired ATGM can take out 3 or 4 tanks in a few minutes, even 2000 tanks would be pretty useless.
